Not sure how trap treatment is commonly done for you guys but dye and wax, speed dip or FMJ are pretty common. However theirs a different way many do it ,is with a metal paint thinned out with paint thinner. I usually just spray paint mine but I'm trying this and so far all my traps are coming out nice. Basically you take a metal paint (Rustolum is the most common over here ) and thin it out 50/50 with paint thinner. Let your traps slightly rust, dip and let dry over night. I made 2gal for $51.00 and so far I've been able to dip around two dozen traps and barely use a 1/10th of way I made. The o

Getting Traps From Usa Or Canada ....
Wolfdog91 replied to socks's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Word of advice : don't by trapping supplies from paces like cabales ,bass pro ,gander mountain . I your gonna order trapping supplies order from a trapping supply place . Other wise you'll get ripped off like crazy. Went to a gander mountain once and they were selling some cheap 7X7 3/32nd washer lock snares for $5 a pop ! -

And you know we don't kill every thing we catch. Lots of animals et released with no harm at all. You can hop over to Trapperman.com and see it for your self. Just saying.

As far as how hunting what style are you interest d in lol ? Their hunted over here every way from knife and dogs to helicopters and machine guns ! I'm not joking about the helicopters and machine guns either. I'll see if I have some pictures somewhere from my hunts.

Here's some from today. My turtle traps, the light one is for sliders and the heavy one is for snappers when I find some lol ! And yes I tied all that netting my self ! Some of the guys who hunt on our property left their hog trap so I figured I'd put it to some use ! Rebaited with some fresh sour corn. These small cages don't work as well as corral traps for control but for helping with groceries their OK , if it wasn't for the cows I'd be snaring them on the trails but last thing I need to do is snare a $1500 bull ! One thing about these is the sour corn usually ends up attracting

Ever heard he term "playing possum "? That came from these guys. Half the time they act dead and with these dog proofs all you do is compress the spring and their out. I've had to use my catch pole once on possum. Can't say the same for a raccoon lol ! Usually all I do is put my foot next to him so they have someone to bite, pop the trap and usually I'll grab them by the tail ( possum can hold their body weight with their tails so it doesn't hurt them a bit) and just carry them off away from my trap. Not uncommon for them to come back and get caught again. Their not too bright lol !
-
I presume their a non target. For instance, the one in the photo above, is in a coon trap. basically. Unless I'm targeting them I really have no reason to keep them. They are kinda a pest on the line though. Mainly because they catch them in about every set you make. Good pan tension helps but you manage to catch them regardless some time.

get to know me lol ! But Hillary is Just...... As a solider I lost all respect for her after bengazi
-
lol that's what everyone says ! But no usually if I catch them in a dog proof theirs little to no damage and I just let en go. I really don't like skinning the thing if I can help it haha ! Now I do know a few old ladies that like to cook them so I try to grin and bear skinning a few for them. From my understanding they don't taste bad at all but umm....... They just don't look good haha !

trump has just started to save your country from certain doomSo far he's doing a fine job. All of the liberal special snowflake are acting like its the end of the the world lol.

well these are just slider turtles. Their are some who eat them but mainly what I do is catch them and relocate them. People down here act like their the plague or something. Most of the time I getting them outta people's ponds, not uncommon to see 10-20 in a small pond. It's actually a pretty good way to make a bit of gas money if you charge say $2 per. As for traps I make my slider or "cooter" as some of the older folks call em, traps out of 2X4 fencing wire. I tie a flat net throat in one end and just a bag in the other with a draw string. Theirs shaped kinda like the old timey lobster pots.

Well y'all sure love our political what nots lol.

Collarum And Belise Foot Snare ?
Wolfdog91 replied to Wolfdog91's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
F&T has them in stock ! I also have a vidoe on YouTube of how to weld up a half decent one. I have a friend over here who love them for fox and yotes. Heres two of my Belises, these are only the 6" models, fox yotes bobcats and such. -
From what I understand the Collarum has been cleared for use by the EU, does anyone use them ? I haven't just due to he fact foot holds are much cheaper ($120 per dozen for most #1.75 sized traps ) collarums run round $ for the Fox model and $100 for the coyote. But at the same time most cages run the same price so if I could only use one or the other I'd most likely go with the Collarum. And on a separate note, is the belisle foot snare legal over there ? I have bout a dozen that I'm pretty up way with! Thanks ! Stay Blessed!

Rats my friends ! Plain ole rats ! I'm personally not interested in doing it but I heard about long netting rabbits, fox, and rats but could only find info on rabbits, info on fox and rats seemed to be nonexestint.
