  3. Beddlington crosses are very game myself and my brother have two first cross bitches from the same litter and they both work all leagal quarry. Before the ban they coursed hares on fenland around kingslynn and both were capable of 2 out of 2 when at peak fitness, they have taken loads of foxes and countless deer, my brothers bitch opened up at about 7 months old when on her first lamped rabbit and does every now and then so my advice is to catch some rabbits and drop them in the open for yours to run this should settle it down after a few runs. Happy hunting. This is a picture of my bitch pur

  7. Coming on strong now at nearly 4 months old. She seems quite a sensible pup as well so fingers crossed and hope she makes the grade, what do you reckon of her...
  8. I use a product-aerosol called Septi cleanse some people call it purple spray, its for use on sheep an cattle. It is very effective on flesh wounds, regards kris
  9. A mate of mine had a dog recently that was paterdale/springer, it leaned more to the spinger size but was black with a pat looking head and that was a hell of a good bushing dog but couldn't be kept with another dog as it was a terrible fighter, but a good dog none the less
  10. Put the best to the best and hope for the best but nothing is guaranteed, you can't make a bad dog good but you can make a good dog bad. The well bred ones cost as much as the s**t ones so dont take the chance,,,
  11. I know the sire and dam to these pups and they're both 100% stayers,,, I have a red bitch out of a previous litter from this bitch to a dog of the same lines and she is doing the bis below. If my bitch wasn't in pup i'd have one of you mate. i like the black'n'tan dog , nice markings,,, speak soon mate
  12. I had a pup that went a bit like that last year out of my russell bitch, it was a seemingly healthy pup and as big as the rest but was born in green embriotic fluid, she was fine up until a week old but soon deteriorated, the bitch wouldn't have in the whelping bed with the others as she knew it was a wrongun, she would pic it up and take it as far away as she could. I botlle fed it for a while hoping to see a change but it stayed the same, i gave it away and its still alive but its not right at all. I hope i wont get the same on my up and coming litter but if i do i wont keep it alive. It wo
  13. A mate called me this week and told me that someone had called him posing as an RSPCA officer (woman) he was asked his home details and what stock he had there, he asked where they had got his number from and they said that they had recieved a complaint about a pup he had sold- his last litter pup was sold 3 months ago and was in fine fettle when it left, he contacted the branch where the caller was supposed to be from and they had no record of him or any complaint... BEWARE of bogus callers and dont give any details over the phone
  14. Prevention is better than cure , strip the ears on a regular basis with small forceps as they tend to get deeper in the ear. you can use olive oil to soften the wax and it should break down in its own time, you can do this weekly, i hope this helps
  15. She was bred by a fella called Jonny Vine from Kent area, and his stuff goes back to Downsouth and a dog called Raving Rooney which is Gutchcommon/Mad ratter and rock star. She is now showing a bit of interest in work and went to grond the other day so i'll hold her back and bring her on slow and she should be ok. I like her because she leans towards the older type of the Bedlington with her size and stamp. I'll try and get some more pics of her but she won't stand still for long enough, thanks for the comment !!! bedlington
  16. I said i would post up a photo of my bitch pup for you lads, she went to ground the other day after my russell bitch so i have high hopes for her, Hunt 101 bedlington (pip)
  17. I had a bitch that came from somerset she worked on rats and rabbits well but when it came to foxes in cover she was a bit to shy for my liking, she was a shade small in the bone for my liking so i put her to a dog that complimented her faults, i sold all of the pups and am keeping an eye on their progress, only time will tell. But next time around i wont breed unless both the sire and dam have proven themselves to the full. A saying in the coursing world is that you put the best to the best and hope for the best if we all do that we'll make progress. I have a pup now that looks to be sha

  19. Just to let you know that a friend of a friend has some working type pups (blue and liver) supposed to be well bred, if anyone is interested pm and i'll get some details... predomanantly Gutchcommon lines...
  20. I use vasaline on ticks as they have breath through their arse because their head is buried, it tends to make them back out whereas insecticide kills them often leaving the head in. I would say though it works better on larger ticks... Its not a sure fire way but try it first and if all else fails you can use frontline. Also dont put them back in with the other pugs with the vasaline on them cos they have a tendancy of licking it off, i hope thats some help
  21. Nice pics mate, I like the chocolate dog good head on him
