  1. These throat bites are also quite good as you can measure the distance between the holes and compare to the cats fangs, trouble is many people will claim that a dog has done it on a sheep or deer so finding a set on a wild bore kind of rules out any dog as even the biggest baddest pig dog would struggle to kill a boar with a single throat bite, ?
  2. It is mate and the footprint that looks pretty canine is a leopard in soft ground with its claws out,
  3. Without a scaling it’s hard and it’s also not enough pixels to enlarge it, but if I was pressed for an answer I’d go canine simply based on body length and height ?
  4. No there is only one but your on the right track mate, ?
  5. And a little quiz for those intereste, what sort of cat is that and what left the track ?
  6. The scaling on this one was quite thorough as the lady was very helpful and open, the white sticks are put in place over the original picture then measured, have a picture of a lynx waiting to be scaled after the lockdown is lifted as well, footprints are pretty good but even a cat can make a mark like a dog and vice versa ?
  7. Have a look at the head shape of the 100% black leopard in the cage above and the enlarged pic of the cat/dog out walking on its own, I’d say the one in the pic out and about looks a slightly healthier version of the above caged animal, just ashame he’s angled so the tail is behind the body, I have a photo of a black one walking away from a trail cam here and as it’s black on black it’s very hard to make anything out on that, full side view with tail is what is needed video would be better,?
  8. The one thing that says domestic to me is it’s tail but the guys occupation does add some weight to it ??
  9. The lady took the picture because there were no people there and the animal was alone, also it has a body length of 4ft but a height of only 2ft, which would give it a body length of an Irish wolfhound and the height of a lab, so without a better picture you have to go with probability and as it’s in an area with a lot of cat activity and sightings and the animal is the exact size of a male leopard it’s more probable to be a cat than a 4ft long dog out on its own for a walk or that’s how I see it, I also think it does look like a black cat in the enlarged photo but hey it keeps me busy and may
  10. Southern Spain mate, have a listen to episode 12 on the podcast, it’s been on the roof of his house in the bins and still no photo ??
  11. Few signs of direct registry there mate were the back foot comes down on the hole left by the front foot, as you have a few lynx still over there it won’t be questioned, but obviously as they are not meant to be here no one looks or knows what to look for I found these in a gateway after a guy going to feed his horses saw a large sandy brown cat like animal come out the gateway and disappear opposite in an instant, he thought he saw a puma and the tracks add weight to his claim ?
  12. I know of at least one black leopard roaming about over there as a guy on the podcast had one dumped near him a few years back and it hangs around his property ??
  13. Mate sorry for not replying sooner have just walked through the door and checked in, I,m actually a bit lost for words at your kind gesture, I,m quite a stand alone type of person and find your offer quite touching thank you so very much,, if you are sure about this I would be over the moon with it and even if I don’t get a cat on it I see loads of nice stuff out that would be good to record thank you again
  14. Mate both Dartmoor and exmoor zoos have had loads of encounters, there are staff from them zoos that are interviewed in the podcast who have seen cats outside of the zoos, keepers that look after the same animals everyday and certainly would not mistake them for anything else when they see them out, but if you live somewhere that never gets this much activity it’s easy to see why people don’t believe, as you say mate you live in the middle of a hot area spend all your spare time outdoors and have yet to have a clear unmistakable sighting, there is always going to be negatives even a Chrystal c
  15. No that one is one of the better ones that have been genuine, the lady took one of our group to the spot to do the scaling, it was 4ft long and 2ft at the shoulder
  16. I’m pretty sure more than one or two have been slotted over the years have heard accounts of one caught in a snare a black leopard shot by a farmer on Bodmin and a lad told me he had squeaked one in and shot a lynx in Scotland thinking it was a fox panicked and stuffed it down a badger sett and filled the hole, but who knows it’s just story’s ?
  17. Had all that last time it came up, not much chance of one of them running around loose on the quantocks either, and the only reason to make that comparison is because the dog is a ringer for a black leopard ?
  18. The picture was blown up when they got home it was barely visible when they took it just a black animal moving along the edge of cover, this is the spot the lady that took it pulled into this car park by the two posts in the foreground and the animal was running along the cover in front ?
  19. One was in Dorset mate near blandford the other was near Tewkesbury which would be Gloucestershire Warwickshire border, both were black and I would guess one was male and one was female by the build of them as one was very solid and muscular the other much lighter in build, ?
  20. One other little problem with any kind of camera is the close encounter is usually a fleeting glimpse as it crosses a road or jumps a gate the times you get to see them for longer is when they are far away and unaware of your presence, but in the first case you don’t have time to react and in the second you get a distant black blob, the picture that I put up at the very start of this is about as good as you get on an iPhone and it’s been zoomed in as far as possible, this picture has been scaled and the animal in it is the same size as a leopard would be ????
  21. Yes mate does video and has a moderate zoom ?
  22. Believe it or not I carry an iPad with me ?
  23. The thing is and I’ve said it numerous times, I’ve seen what I seen and I can’t unsee it, so I want to no more and find out more which is what I have set out to do, I don’t need to convince anyone of what I have seen as it’s irelavant to me, through my search I’ve came in touch with many other people just like me, the biologist and host of the podcast rick minter has became a sort of coordinator to people like myself and through his sources and contacts we are getting things in place and slowly building a case and one of the three Cs clear pic, corpse or captured animal would cut a lot of the
