    I dont understand why so many worry about how old the dog is. Someone was saying like 6 years. Thats along time to do a breeding and if it takes one that much time to see what he needs to see to use one for breeding then perhaps he needs new glasses. I believe its good practice to bred worker to worker also but lets face just because it works doesnt mean its gonna throw a worker. Sometimes thats all he is, is a worker. Ive seen old pit men bred off of cold dogs and produced great workers then ive seen them bred great workers and got shit..mother nature is crazy.

    To me a dog man puts his dogs first. They make sure there caught up on shots, they have clean water and bedding and food on a daily basis. When there hurt they get proper medical treatment. You can have and bred the best line of dogs and have great working dogs but if you dont take proper care of them then your not a good terrier man. Your just a guy with some dogs..

    nope dont take many pics you have any pics of any hunting you have done im not afraid to dig hard ground mosy barns around here hold live stock mostly horses or dairy cows not many hay barns so i dig and do brush piles the weather dont bother me i work out side every day no matter the weather my dogs are young and just starting. Taking them out this weekend for the first time so ill get you pics.?. So in ohio thers live stock like horses but no barns that store there hay or straw? what do they do import it?     because ground hogs are backe filled in for the winter and why dig through frozen ground for a coon when all you have to do is hit some barns and ran down buildings. And the snow gets really deep in the north alot. Id rather save a bullshit day and just hit the barns and old ran down houses. When the weather is shit there bedded down..jmo..

    It depends on were your from. In the warmer states yes but in the northern states in the winter not so much. In the winter you will do more barn hunts. And your not ground hogging in the winter. And fox do come out in the winter so there dens are not backfilled like the ground hogs are so you could still locate them. The folks that must be still digging in the winter months must live were its warm.

    you say you had the dog for 4yrs and then got him back a year latter and he was a hard dog and now he wont enter? Im sorry i find that hard to believe that he was a hard dog at 4yrs old and then a year latter wont even enter. Unless hes one that needs some time from moving to another spot wich i doubt because if you had him for 4 years he should know you pretty good and feel comfortable. A hard dog will work to work.
