  1. This is getting into the numbers game,- or do you mean a good lamping dog that can "do it" when there is not much or easy catches. LDR's dog Bruce has to be up there.
  2. That one is the size of a mobile phone, carried in a bag or pocket. Several like that on the market, but not the size of an ID chip.
  3. This would make every other tracking system obsolete, and be worth many millions, Fit it in your car aeriel (spelling ? )etc
  4. I'll have a ticket for that game. What a game that would be. Who cares where the ball is.

    SHOWS

The terrier shows raise money towards equiptment for rescues, and the club. The lurcher shows used to raise money for the club, to pay for some land to work. Also its just a good meeting place for like-minded people, and to show their dogs, some dogs in fantastic condition.
  6. Yep, risky folk from Stanley, my workmates family are from there, John Leighton,- but good dog lads in that area.
  7. Not all the answers,- strange reply. ?
  8. The japs are not crap and its the size of the battery and chip i'm talking about. To operate by movement it has to be more than a "chip". The mobile phone tracking system is easy enough, our engineer already has that part up and running, on a different system.
  9. If this is geuine, i wish you the best of luck in getting it up and running, and you will take early retirement in less than one year as a millionair. I doubt it though, battery being the problem. The company i work for has a design engineer working on this type of thing ( not for animals ) but no way could even the japs come up with something like this with a lifetime battery. You'd have the answer to the electric car with that battery on a bigger scale. I don't mean to "run down " your idea, but good luck pal.
  10. If you can get some,- Alan Bateman has videos or dvds on stickmaking,- he is one of the best makers. Very informative, but he gets the best horns to work with. Its good horns you want,- your making things difficult by trying to save money and getting cheaper materials. Another good site that may help is,- http://www.bobsticks.co.uk/links.htm
  11. This is the contact you want,- he supplies most outlets and is much cheaper, and a great bloke. Phone him and tell him what you want. http://www.highlandhorn.com/
  12. November, to into February is the best time to cut. Hazel growing in rocky areas are slower growing and a harder stick when seasoned. Cut longer than you will require, seal the ends, i found knotting sealer to be best, and tie them together and season standing up ( never lying down as sap can burst through ). Cut a bit thicker shanks to allow for up to one third shrinkage during seasoning. Season for at least one year.As your Ireland,- best place i ever saw for shanks was Rostrevor Forest, in N-Ireland. Amazing place.
  13. You would need to phone him, its not my stuff. Thanks

  17. Is it my settings, but i only seem to be getting half the photos. Yes Lamps its a bit too much snow now. Dogs love it but its the unseen wire i worry about. Lots of wire on the land i'm on. My brother takes wire cutters and cuts the barbed wire down. Nowt to do with me, but i'm glad he does it. He poaches a lot. Good photos lamps.
  18. Most whippets today, i think are Whippet greyhound X, i may be wrong, but i remember the old type miners whippets at 14lb pocket rocket type in the late 1960s. I'd love a whippet if i had more room but a proper whippet.
  19. One show i was at, a bullx lurcher was sold/passed on 5 times. Honestly 5 times. Kicked out the last lads car because it shit in the car. I took the dog off them. Told them to get the police if they wanted it back,- they did a runner. Couldn't trace the original owner, (not chipped or identifying marks really) so found it a real good home. It was at the Wolsingham show about 4 years or so ago. It would be quite easy to sell dogs on, i have been asked, if i wanted several lurchers in the past, and could not say for sure, they got them legit. I said no.
  20. Still the same just now. I'm glad others were having the same problem, i was blaming my pc.
  21. Not seen any aroung here Kay, but perhaps just didn't take notice. Good photo.
  22. Seems that the £££££ may well be what its about. I have just got back from Lamping with my lurcher. I bumped into a lad with his Lurcher and two terriers. having a bit chat about the land and his dogs. He has a couple of very good earth dogs,- one a Jack Russell he had paid £30 for from a lad at Ashington, Northumberland, because the lad said its too big for showing, but its "big" enough to go to ground, and recently took two foxes from a field drain. His other earth dog is a bit marked at the moment, so resting up. Getting a good earth dog because its no good for showing, says a lot.
  23. Merry christmas Paul , you and your family. Your still welcome here pal, i'll keep Gunner out the way.
