  2. Cheers lads hedges allways hold bunnys JB to be honest thought it would of been holding more than what we got , but can`t complain 32 rabbits in 2 days not bad . Still more to be done got to get out as much as possible even if its a half day due to weather seasons gettin shorter and shorter FV

  4. Mate had that happen last year whilst out she was stung by what we were never sure of. She was fitting and choking so we packed up and made for home.in the car on the way back she seemed to be pulling round .Anyways she never ferret again and later on died . She was seen by a vet and he said it was most likely a extreme reaction to a bee or wasp sting .
  5. Today it was hedge time my favourites :sick: buggers yes but need doing . Longnets down and stop nets set out with a few purse nets layed out we were ready to go . Heres the hedge 2 people on 1 side and me mate and his dog the other as there was only the 3 of us . Ferrets down and straight away rabbits bolting but not to the longnets instead they were running the hedge as they normally do . 5 straight in the stop nets , vital bit of kit are stop nets on these hedges .   7. Did a sett last year ran the longnet round it a few ferrets in and all hell broke loose rabbit flying out like popped corks it was mental 21 rabbits out of that sett. Most in a stop end 4 . Most of my ferreting is on hedges buggers that they are and the rabbits never want to play ball

  9. Have`nt been out for a couple of weeks got a bloody trapped nerve in me leg and i`ve hardly been able to walk but this week its slowly getting better. The plan was to get up sharp and be back in the house for dinner time but that went out the window when i woke up at 10.45 .   11. Its been a interesting thread with valid points from across the board . True not everyone can get out 24\7 to hunt and work there little stinkers no harm in that. Great for those who can , circumstances and life in general often dictate what time we can and cannot spend a hunting. Is it not human nature that over time we have evolved and learned that breeding from the strongest,fittest animal enhances our sporting chance in the field ???   15. But can it do 3-4 days on the trot thats when you know you got a good grafter. Seen ferrets worked hard and the next day don`t want to come out there hutch. We use any were between 6 to 12 ferrets hard graft long hedges and setts up to 100-150 plus holes. Festa and markman good job lads keep at them bonny pup FV
