  1. seemed a nice bloke had a chat with his mate over dinner who keeps the hounds for cover seemed a decent bloke too. they where saying the father of your mates dog is fairly usefull to. with large amounts of game to his credit. nice to see there is still some very good pure bred stuff around not to far from you either . take it easy macker
  2. cracking dog jigsaw. pity you could not make the trip up a few weeks ago when all the deer hounds where up was talking to a lad that knew you and your friend he has a very game pure bred deerhound from clonmel was plesently surprised to see them run. pity you could not of made it. after the hunting where cooked some venison stew and treated with the great respectand made feel at home. honds where working well too. my deerhoud cross got his second fox that day and did well. maybe next time i will see you there macker

  4. i heard the bog around there is hot a good while not sure why. only a matter of time before i bump into them shotgunwilly as you know yourself we hunt the same area generaly hunting different game.
  5. i would give my right arm for one of those stags like the type kye off this site has. tested on harder ground and tougher quarry my guess would be that one of these dogs would do great over here on soft ground. have looked up some of the sites on quarrinteen laws. and its even worse bringing dogs to ireland than england.. even with sperm straws i have heard it can be costly. with high risk of not been productive. maybe some day i will have one of these cracking dogs. and have got some great info on these dogs one member off this site. all the best macker
  6. terrible was not expecting this when i clicked on this thread. really sorry to hear this macker
  7. if your dog is stubburn and likes to run off after rabbits and squirils what happens when it sees a sheep? you can give it all the squirts you want your dog is bred to hunt and if he gets it into his head he will do what he wants. i dissagee with what was said about being heavy handed with dogs the is more out of control dogs ruined by owners . see them in the park and in the field. as was said earlier they will dominate if not dominated. a smack of a paper when young and a firm voice from then on. keep the dog on the lead if you dont want him hunting. all the best macker
  8. caught some young hares in oct november and december. last year with my fox dog. good chance it might of been a leveret all the best macker

    rabbit wipe out

just to let you know mixi is doing a great job as it is over here in ireland got an ultra sonic gimic for ants and supposidly mice too. only to find my little ant hive i was trying to get rid off was under the socket where the super sonic ant killer was plugged in. so i find it hard to believe this one will work on rabbits so far away. all the best macker

  24. not into the dog fighting crack at all my self. i am addicted to the hunt of animals not really the killing. noticed a few faces on that programme from shows. but for the life of me i can not understand if a police man steps over the line in getting their evidance in an unlawful way the case will be thrown out of court even if its a rape case or murder case. yet the bbc can make a programme and get their opinion on facts through their own methods altogether that the police would never be able to use. just for good tv is a total joke. would never allow any dog i had to go through a fig
