Hi everyone :)

I'm new to this type of dog and don't have any background information regarding my pup... She was dumped at a rescue centre at approx 6wks... Any advice you could offer would be gratefully received.

We think she's around 12wks old now... I've taken loads of photos to share with you guys..I was wondering if any of you would have any idea what she may be crossed with? She's 6kilo in weight and measures just over 13" tts, any guesses as to her adult weight or size (because I haven't got a clue how to size her as an adult)?

Grrrr most of my pictures are large files and can't be posted.... But I hope you can see what you need to.

Thanks for any help or advice.

Kinds regards

Jo :)

I don't like to blow my own trumpet, but she definitely has landed on her feet with me..... She was a lot leaner when I got her, all legs and no body weight.... She's going to take some building up, s

Summer at 19wks...... 9.6k and standing 17" tts....

Sounds like he won't be a large dog. Being only 13" at 12 weeks, but that could be down to the s##t start to life he's had.   But judging by the pictures and size he is, I guess he will be under 22"

Get plenty of fatty red meat and some CA37 into him every day.

Good luck.

Yeah she definitely had a bad start, some twisted bad minded person tied her in a carrier bad and hung her off a fence post at the rescue centre... I was originally after a whippet but I couldn't pass her by, the poor girl needed a decent home.. I'm hoping she's not going to stand too tall, but it matters not, I'll love her regardless.. thank you for responding, appreciate yr input

Knuckles don't look very big, I'd say 21"-23" full grown collie/grey/whippet maybe? But like someone said could be due to its poor start in life. Lots of good meat and a quality mixer, some fish and ox tail when it gets it's adult

Cheers for yr input.... In the short time I've had her (2wks) she's put on almost 4lb and grown an inch.... I can't believe how rapid she's growing, said to hubby this morning, Crickey I think she's going to be huge! (mind you I've only ever had small breeds) Probably just a grown spurt.... She's adoreable! I'm excited to see how sheturns out..... She's on wainwrights puppy food at the moment and topping her up with chicken and salmon with rice or pasta.... She's a right starver!

Haha she will end up a beast of a dog at that rate haha. We only thought my bitch would make 21" ended up 25" she was the smallest out the litter. Once she hits 6-8 months she will go abit gangly by 12-14 you will know her size. Good luck with her, will you be working her? Just remember some lurchers will eat to burst haha mine broke into a 5kg bag of mince as a pup and wolfed the lot!

If its been in a rescue centre for 6 weeks and looks like that the place wants shutting down.Worm it,flea it,get plenty of small and often meals into it,give it a warm dry bed and a little care and education, then you will have done as much as you can, good luck.

She's on four meals a day at the moment.... I've done the worming and flea treatments.... She was infested with worms! She's definitely thriving now.... :)

Thank you for the sound advice

Pet or worker, best thing is to socialise the pup, get her amongst everything you might encounter from bikes to sheep (livestock training is a must), try and get her around other dogs plenty and obviously kids/people. I think this is one of the biggest failings of general dog owners.Well done on taking on a rescue pup, all the best , Joe.

Evening Joe, I plan on keeping her as a pet only, I may show her if she continues to be obedient.... She's living with me, my teens and two Jack russels, she's exposed to plenty of noise and visitors, she's not at all nervous... In fact she's quite the little character..... She's a joy to be around....She's amazing considering her shakeup start in life....... Thank you Joe :)
