its a 5 pound chicken if it came to massageing its arse with cream i would just ring its neck and buy another not taking the piss mate i know you only looking out for it but ring its neck and buy anot

Now i know were talking about a Hen here but if i said to my girl that i was dying and the only way she could save me was to set her alarm for every 4 hours and she was to get up and rub olive oil on

your just being fecking stupid now how would you like someone keeping you in a coop all day long, feeding you pellets and the odd scraps, you would not like it would you

Thats what i was thinking Moll. They have asked for help with a health problem, not a discussion on whether other people would like to keep the breed they have or for the same reason. To be honest if something is treatable i will treat it - after all if i didnt want the animal in the first place i wouldnt bother to keep it...IMO necking a bird is sometimes the lazy option..

Too true Mez..if they can be helped they should be helped and imo culling is the last resort..would you get your dog put to sleep at the first sign of trouble..?..i very much doubt it..

A pet is a pet..no matter what it is..a pet chook mean's the same to the owner as a pet dog cat horse and whatever else..they are all living thing's and deserve respect and a chance in my eye ball's..don't get me wrong i have culled my fare share of pet's over the year's..not something i would boast about but like i say everything deserve's a chance instead of going for the easier cheaper option of culling..

this is my first year as well................fair enough you want to save a chicken..................but a dog and especially a working dog is no comparison to a chicken, it puts stuff, on your plate, (a little more than an egg), puts its body on the line for you, it shows loyalty and protects you and your surroundings....................
