Hardfeather 56
There has been a constant exchange of bloodlines among England, Ireland and America thus the breed is only one: the English Game Fowl which in turn can be English, Irish or American bred. As an instance, the same happens with the Thoroughbred horse which can be English, Irish or American bred but all are bred for the same purpose. Also in Thoroughbred horses (as in any other working breed) there is room for variations over the general ideal points.
DUCKWING 302
oxford should have a back as short as a 50p peice and apparently pure ones take some beating. americanss were created in america so are a blend of all the immigrants fowl settling in america including asil irish english thai etc. proper americans are easier to get hold of than proper oxfords. Oxford is the name of the Club not the fowl. possibly the best written description of a steel fighting cock that fits both English, Irish and American families.... The Oxford 'type' is English/Irish & the American strains of English/irish heritage... They are all of the same fowl that fit the same Oxford standard ! WANNABEE , IVE SEEN THAT SAME PHRASEOLOGY BEFORE ........... INFACT ....... ITS THAT CLOSE ITS TOO MUCH OF A COINCIDENCE WHERE EVER IVE SEEN IT , ITS AS CLOSE TO THE TRUTH AS YOU CAN GET ...... DUCKWING 302
i have been told by a fella that used to work his oxfords until very recently that they would not touch any american blood or any game of other description apart from their own. the stock he would of owned would of kept in his family or friends families from when cocking was legal. these are the "oxfords" i consider pure. they are a breed in their own right, not a type or body shape . i consider americans to be like jack russels, so many different types and shapes and things people label as americans, where as the proper "oxford" to be like a greyhound, bred pure over hundreds of generations, even if something is labeled as oxford, doesnt mean it can be considered to be, in my opinion IAM AFRAID THAT FELLA YOU TALKED TO WAS FILLING YOUR HEAD FULL OF CRAP DUCKWING
