Deker 3,491
My .22lr zero has been rock solid for at least 2 years, about my only gun I could just grab, go out and know it would do the job 100%...Monday I'm climbing up the bank of a stream, slip in the mud and use the moderator as a dirt scoop!!! Take the mod off and find a thin twig to push the dirt out with, only to break the slightly bent twig inside the mod...**** me..this is not going well...anyway ..sorted, or so I thought, as the next, and last bunny of the night went down at about 60 yards. Real good clean when I got home and found it was off when next out, I'm sure the mod is fine and nothing bent, but the jolt as I hit the deck seems to have moved the scope a fraction.....I have adjusted it every day since including today, it's driving me mad..to far left..too far right, back and forth, seems spot on again now but I thought that for the last few days!! Bugger...and collecting my .223 and .308 after barrel shortening and re threading/crown tomorrow morning, so a load more zeroing to be done!! Never stops does it!!! Quote Link to post

Mr_Logic 5
Methinks we ought to get a lane at Bisley for an afternoon/morning - I have 223, 22 Hornet, 308 (possibly twice) to zero up as well... Quote Link to post

Give me the .22 anyday, everyone I've had have been 100% reliable/repeatable. Still not got that confidence with the hmr Quote Link to post
danebrewer10 6
hmmm do you have cheap scope on it? I have a £50 walther 3-9x56 IR scope on my air rifle, scope is horrid to zero.... I'm now getting an anschutz .17 hmr with a Schmidt & Bender 8x56- expensive, but at least it won't be a problem!! Quote Link to post
humperdingle 0
Could it be the mount jaws? If the scope has been knocked, maybe the clamps got a bit gouged? Problem is, it could be so many things, but luckily re-zeroing is an excuse to fire more rounds! Quote Link to post
The one 8,598
Mine seems to slackening off where the action is screwed onto the stock check there with a screwdriver Quote Link to post
Deker 3,491
Sweet as a nut again now, out with my lad for a while yesterday for a .22lr, .223 and .308 zero session......job done... ...and interestingly, after bashing the .308 through a Log Pile backstop luck would have it we found 2 bullet heads.....gone right through 8inches (200mm) of solid tree trunk and smashed a smaller piece of wood behind. Can't believe the expansion achieved whilst pushing through such a solid piece of tree, anyway my lad has taken pics of the heads on his phone and just gone back home, so hopefully he will remember to send them to me so I can show you all. Cheers Quote Link to post
the Verminator 0
be intresting to see the bullets, the other day i found a .22lr bullet in the ground and dug it out. it had expanded well. i'll get some pics up to show you if you want Quote Link to post
