Lamping from the motor

Recommended Posts

I get out of the habit of taking the camera.

I've mostly been walking the whole pack at night due to lack of time then driving the fields on the way back home running the Salukis along side taking a handful most nights keeps them ticking over.

Now that the fields are being sown I'll hopefully get a few more decent nights out.

Doesn't the farmer mind? Or ,does he not know?

The farmer knows and is very happy for me to kill any rabbit I can. What makes you think he would mind? I don't drive on the sown fields there are grass gallops round the edges and I drive the quiet country lanes that go through my permission.

I alternate the dogs doing one field/section at a time with one dog (unless one as caught and rabbits are running in then I'll send the other dog out the window) then I swap.

I prefer walking but this way it gets and few in the bag and the dogs are well run as they are running pretty much the whole time. I finish up doing a big circuit with them both out on the ground I've already done before I head home.

Regards

Mark

A quick look out for a few more for the freezers, using motor to cover more and get up on them quicker as they don't hang about for long these days.

I used to run my dog like that, mainly because i am too paranoid and too much of a wimp to be walking about on my own in the dark :icon_redface:

We never caught that many but it was always good fun and i was nice and safe in the motor while he was catching!!
