hi

ive kept ferrets for a while now and have had five since starting the first two i had were already worked and easily handled

my third is nice enough at home but can be nippy but as soon as im out if i try to pick it up to move burries it wants to kill me i handle them all everyday for atleast 10 mins twice if not more a day why does it still insist on eating me.....

also i have two new jkits five months old now one is lovely not got a bad bone in her body tried to nip a few times but out of freight i think my other silver mitt has now started every now and then having a go is it something im doing or is it just i have two tempermental ferrets.

I have a young jill here who has started to bite me , its very probably hormonal changes as she was very sweet untill recently

can i expect this tweo diminish or is it something i will have to put up with.. i think the fact that my other one is so aggressive it makes me wary and probably makes the situation worse

Its something that will go when there out of season, if you get them jabbed or run them with a vasectomised hob they will very likely have phantom pregnancys where they drag each other round & try to mother the other ferrets they live with so basically if there entire , there hormonal while in season

Its possibly the hormones mate. When they come into season they can be very strange. One of the nicest friendliest ferret can turn into a demon almost overnight.

i have 4 ferrets all with different pesonality's 3 of them will not bite but only play fight with my hand as for the other he was a little b*****d i cured his biting by dipping his head in a bowl of water everytime he bit me he dont bit no more.

I have a jill thats the exact same, soft as margarine, but put your hands near her when she's working and she'll hang from your wrist like a football scarf, I put up with her because she graft her arse off, there are times when I forget she's there, but then she has her own little way of reminding me, its just her little foible :D
