SportingShooter 0
Improper use of Police resources in a nutshell Instead of raiding people in the middle of the night with a Lamp, just think they could have been needed for a real Firearms incident
Guest ferret feller
they need to sort of more important things then a few lads on a nights lamping imo....

Jayd 0
Sounds like the lads got a claim going through against the police to me... "It is in the hands of our insurers"?

mattydski 560
I am not defending Tayside Police...but. One simple phone call to log the night time shoot, would have prevented the incident. I have logged every night time shoot in Tayside I have ever been on, and shoot with 200 yds of a village, and 100 yards of a Major trunk road...without incident. Lesson to be learnt I think... I dunno, I just thought it may spark conversation on here, was surprised to see it in the local news, usually it's stabbings, beatings, etc.
Toka 10
i think unlawful detention is compensated at £1000 per hour in custody.......doesnt take into account the stress involved in this, when a couple of quick enquiries could have resolved it there and then....hope they get a suitable compensation, it will make them think twice next time........you'd like to think!!??? Cornio 0
Just think. How many times do those boys get a call-out? Hardly ever. They couldn't feckin wait for the slightest oppurtunity to do their action man bit. They've probably been sat at the station watching cop movies praying for the moment that phone rings. Riot police are exactly the same - can't wait to use their batons - they tend to be satiated a little more often though. Edited February 25, 2009 by Cornio
kevegg 0
It almost sounds like they were using it as a training excercise.

Fidgety 8
Yes, quick phone call before they went would have saved all that caper! To your average Joe, a gunshot in the night gets their minds racing, having watched endless crap on tv they start to worry! 30 second phone call would stop it.
