Has anyone use nything tht gets rid of this ? Dont want somethig that might work , or after doing ascan you hav to buy it before it works , but something that actually works and will stop my pop up and internet explorer nightmre , aso the bloody thin is realy, really , slow and keybard isn`t wrking prperly , cheers Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Do NOT follow this advice! There are thousands of pages listed on Google claiming to remove viruses, spyware etc. In reality they're nothing more than spyware themselves, taking advantage of your vulnerability to sneak into your system while you're down. Worse still, some will pretend to "scan" your computer, hijack it, then pop up banners every five seconds filling the screen with an ad to the effect that if you want your PC back you have to send a payment to the "company" for the "cure" to the virus you have Check out MalwareBytes Anti-Malware and SuperAntiSpyware for two FREE products that are pretty much the best out there at what they do. Install them, run the update to get the latest database, then REBOOT your PC. Boot into safe mode (press F8 repeatedly on boot up until you get a black screen with a list of options, then select Safe Mode). Then run the two apps one after the other and follow the prompts to remove any nasties. Actually off the top of my head, the SuperAntiSpyware app might have a shortcut in it's Start Menu folder for "Reboot into safe mode" - check that beforehand, it'll save you some hassle If you don't run in safe mode you'll not catch all the baddies. For all you know your PC is currently part of the latest botnet and you'd be none the wiser Or you could be lucky and you found a decent link. More to the point if you had to do it twice, your methods obviously aren't that effective to begin with. I haven't had a malware infection since the 90s lol Personally? After two decades of building, fixing and installing crap on PCs, I'll stick to what I know works and NOT advise newbies to start asking Google how to clear malware from their system as they wouldn't have a cat in hell's chance of knowing which links to trust. We've had Norton, then McAfee & some of the sh*t still gets through it. We had pop up that told me I'd trojan virus'es on computer & to down load a certain programe to get rid of them-it was all crap. Run two checkers through all comp & whilst there were tracking cookies there were no trojans, spyware or anything else. I'm not the most all the ball with comp stuff but try to keep comp clear of crap because I use it so much. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

donk 12 Posted January 31, 2009 Report Share Posted January 31, 2009 Im one of the numpties that googled "spyware removal" I ended up losing my internet explorer access,then my internet connection,blue screen on start up,virused restore points and to be honest was going to chuck my £50 secondhand pc out. A lad at work gave me AVG 8 and its managed to remove most of the crap though i stil get a blue death screen when i start up quite often. Does anyone know if theres a decent book out there for learning about computers,ive seen that "pc's for dummies" book,would something like that be a good start????? Well iv`e done this and already the thing seems better , the keys are responding when i type , which is quite a novelty !
