Guest Magwitch
Myself and Tony were invited for a day's ferreting by Skycat for some hedgerow hunting today. so we traveled up with the ferrets and Tony with his lurcher Smokie. Fair play to Andy and Jake who took on the bramble side of the hedgerow while Tony and me purse netted the easier field side. Only took a few photo's as we were quite busy all day......................a very good day out with all the animals working very well and a total bag of 50, once again many thanks Quote Link to post

skycat 6,174
Yes, that's the Big Mog. Lovely dog she is and very keen. Sadly there was not a lot of work for the dogs yesterday as 90% of the rabbits hole hopped to unnettable holes in the middle of the hedge or were back netted or held by the ferrets. Good fun all the same: I missed a whole heap of photo opportunities as it's impossible to ferret and be photographer at the same time, especially when the rabbits were bolting well and at regular intervals. The worst part about ferreting hedges like this is the length of time you spend taking the crap out of your nets each time you reset them LOL. At least the weather was great: contrary to what the forecast said: luckily. Just to add: been a few years since I've had the pleasure of Inan's company: I see his sense of humour hadn't changed, though I missed what would have been the shot of the day when his dog ran into him and upended him LOL Nice to meet you Magwitch: got a pic of your trio of white jills on their way to ground: brilliant! Here's the EOD shot: Edited January 19, 2009 by skycat Quote Link to post

Here's the EOD shot: I struggled to do an hours bushing with the" boys" today ,my knee is up like a football ,lamping may have to be put on hold ,pity as it looks good for tonight.I think I would have done better to put my glasses on Smokey instead of wearing them myself, he might have missed me then, talk about should have gone to Spec Savers!
