jazz_11 5
i bought a mark3 ferret/terrier finder off someone on here not mentioning theyre name until i know it is deffinatly broken but anyway,... i put new batteries in the locator collar and then burried in under the sofa. put it on search and it starts making this noise... i think its normal lol... anyway the lights dont show a speciific distance but they just flash and the further away i get the louder the noise gets. when i switch it to locate, nothing happens.. is it me could it be that i am inside and i should be outside and theyre could be inetrferiance from other thing or metal things i dont know. im not very happy as you can imagine after dishing out 100 quid and i dont think it works and i specificaly bought it so i can go out on the weekend. cheers jazz p.s also whats the pin pointer dial on the back.? redeye jedi 39
hi mate, you cant use them indoors, i tired it with the mk3 i bought and thought it was f****d too, tv's are a big problem mate. remeber you need to turn the collars on if its the magnetic switch type you got. you must always have it on search first before you turn it on and when you get the distance down to 8ft then switch to locate. get out to a field and try it. good luck mate hope you haven't been done over. The one 8,589
Pm who ever you bought it from and ask them how it works or if they can send you the instructions mate Quote Link to post
mattydski 560
Basically, the dial on the back alters the sensitivity of the sounder. It means you can reduce the noise so it only sounds from a reduced distance away. This means when it bleeps you are closer than when it doesn't. Always start of on Search, when you reach the bottom of the scale on Search, go to locate. I only use the button on the back when in locate mode and within 6 feet. I turn so there is no noise until it gets closer, it realy does work well Have you definately got the batteries in the collar in right? Sometimes you get some sound out when the batteries are in wrong, and it makes you think that it's not working right. Matty Quote Link to post
scothunter 12,609
check the batteries are in the right way jazz. When i first got mine i thought it was fooked but was batteries in wrong way.Hope you get it working matey Quote Link to post
jazz_11 5
i think i got them in the right way. when i got it the batteries were flat and no noise coming from the locator when i changed the abtteries in the collar there was noise coming from it. so i thinl theyre working lol Quote Link to post
mattydski 560
Hold the collar with the removable cover to the right. The furthest away battery goes in upside down. The one closest to you goes int he right way up... Quote Link to post
jazz_11 5
should the black ring on the batteries be facing up or down? Quote Link to post
mattydski 560
should the black ring on the batteries be facing up or down? In my description above, black ring up , means upside down. Quote Link to post
Halfinch 51
i think i got them in the right way. when i got it the batteries were flat and no noise coming from the locator when i changed the abtteries in the collar there was noise coming from it. so i thinl theyre working lol You can get noise if they are in the wrong way, if you hold the collar so the shorter bit of the collar that slides off is in your right hand and the bit that holds the batteries is in your left hand the furthest battery from you should have the "lump" bit facing up, the one nearest to you should have the "flat" part of the battery facing up. Hope you get what i mean by that. Good luck with it. Edited January 7, 2009 by Halfinch Quote Link to post
