Hob&Jill 258
Its a mk3 as it says on the unit. Liek someone said do a search for mk3, be patient with it and do lots of practise as it seems to be tricky to get the hang of for some people. Its a great locator if you learn to use it properly. Hob&Jill 258
Think its one of the original mk3's stubby. Alot of the advice you will see on here is for the updated mk3 with the pin pointer, may be easier to contact deben for instructions. Quote Link to post

gnipper 6,894
Might sound a daft question but you did get a collar with it didn't you? Make sure you put the batteries opposite way up to each other too in the collar. One switch is on and off with the - and 0 and the other with l and s is for locate and search, locate goes to 8ft and the search goes to 16ft but not accurately its just for finding where abouts the ferret is in the burrow. When you have found where abouts it is switch to locate and pinpoint where it is holding it upright with the leds at the top. By listening to the pitch of the horible noise when it goes to the highest pitch its the closest point, I do an x with the locator to find the nearest point then start digging. If you watch the leds it will confuse you as they go up and down as the ferret is ragging the rabbit or just because they want to. I was gonna bin mine when I got it but I stuck with it and it is a lot better than mk1, even my old mate who comes with me is thinking of getting one after slagging mine off all last season Good luck, Gnipper Quote Link to post
