brock1 2
People have the wrong idea about Ridgebacks; when they were used for hunting lions, they NEVER went in ! They were used to bale the lion until the hunter got there with a gun ! They kept well clear of the lion, or they wouldn't have lasted a minute. It looks like that one is trying to bale the badger, but a pretty poor display !Cheers. spot on mate as if any dog can kill a lion. but saying that i saw a documentry once where 3 nongrel cought a siberean tiger that got tolk to london zoo i think it was called man eaters or something. as anyone else seen it.? I'd wager the dogs used to bay a lion over a hundred years ago are a far cry from the dogs mincing around the show ring today........... Spot on , even with your game bred breeds, some never make it. Simoman 110
Just another problem with shows. The breed description for most dogs is outdated and bogus anyway...........
redeye jedi 39
im guessing that the dogs used for doing in lions years ago were more aggresive, say like pitbulls on roids! not the soft arse crap we got today. still dont think any 3 dogs could kill a lion! big bast*rds them lions. I have zero experience of lion hunting, so I'm obviously just talking out of my arse (like everyone else who's never hunted a big cat)... But one would have thought that an aggressive dog, especially a 'pitbull on roids' would be the first thing to die on a lion hunt! Bay dogs are cowards for a reason A coward that stays... what a combination lol
