Reynardhunter V Hang&Bang

Recommended Posts

Tonight we have Reynardhunter's bitch and Hang&bang's dog running in the competiton.

Plenty of cloud cover around, so we hope to have a good bag. I will post results and photos later. Macker will judge this first round heat.

Tomorrow night we have foxhunter V Richie Hanna, IL will judge that one, and on Wednesday night we have foxhunter (j) V Joe Cash.

May the best dog/bitch win, good luck lads.:thumbs::thumbs:

Where do I start?

Arrived at the venue at 9.15, macker done the toss and RH was first to slip his bitch. We had plenty of cloud cover and a good wind, so it looked like the perfect night for a spot of lamping.

First field we entered had a few bunnies, but they soon hit the ditch, Mr. Charlie was in the field and the bunnies were on their toes. Next field we entered had a good few bunnies and it looked like we would get a few slips in. As Reynardhunter won the toss he was first to slip his bitch, she closed in really fast on the bunny, both bunny and dog went over a hill and out of sight, and then we heard a terrible howl, which could only mean one thing.

We found the bitch at the bottom of a deep sloping bank with the bunny dead beside her. On closer inspection it was discovered that the bitch had collided with some rocks and had damaged her back legs, she found if very had to stand and was dragging her rear legs as she attempted to walk, sick to the stomach is how we felt at that time.

Martin managed to lift his bitch up the bank and across the two fields to the jeep, where we had a closer look at the damage; macker had a close look at the wound and found that it was not too bad, both legs were tested in both directions and both moved freely with no pain to the bitch, but some damage to the mussel may have accrued. At this stage the comp was well and truly off, and it was agreed that we would give the bitch a few days to see how she recovers, Martin is as I type tending the bitch with care and medication, so lets hope she is ok. As you can see from the blanket they was plenty of blood from the wound.
