Good luck to all the lads in the comp no matter who wins its been a good laugh and iv already met a few good lads and made some life time mates. this comp has been a good think for the lurcher scene and i hope it continues to be each year with more and more entering.

All the best to everyone.

i no its only fun but you would be better haveing hunted up day a ferreting day and a lamping nite to test a rabbit dog pionts for fetching marking ,control and allround hunting knowledge with the handlers , done several over the years like that good fun

First off I think congratualtions to anyone who entered the competition, shows people will walk the talk in public. Plus everyine has been having an excellent time which is good for us all.

If I was a betting man then I'd place my money on Mark's dog. From what I hear she is as good as the posts make out. I also think REW is in with a chance. I've not seen his dog run but I have heard through the grapevine that Rew's got something a bit special there. So we shall see.

We will see....when the comp ends, when is the final to be run??

Lots of luck to you all and especially the dogs..... ;)

Febuary mate!!!!

I was speaking to TOMO earlier on the phone and it got us thinking about when you lads will end up running the final and i was saying to TOMO that if and when all the heats are ran and possibly after several heats have been ran over the same ground will there be a surplus of rabbits to be ran so late in the season? We know no-one can predict on any given night rabbit numbers but surely if the competition final was to be ran on already hard hit lamping ground and the final was settled by a low scoring event, wouldn't that make a bit of a mockery of the whole thing? I mentioned to Tomo, perhaps a neutral who has plenty of rabbit laden permission could forfeit some land for the final? It was just a thought,as i'm sure whoever makes the final would like to see it a good test for theirs and their opponents dog? Cheers Andy. ;)

Id say Woodga can guarentee a plentiful supply or rabbits when conditions are favourable :)

unless say mark and tomo get to the final :icon_redface: are will it be fixed as they meet before, are wh and scouser surely they could have there final on tomos are marks why travel all the way up there

I know what you're saying Andy, but i'd imagine anyone with land that holds rabbits at that time of year are gonna be in the same position as they would've been lamped all season!! The beauty of woodga is he has such a huge amount of permission, it shouldn't be a problem!!

I've been out with him in early march and had 70 away from one spot of land!! Its just shit that the weather conditions aint great at the min and the frosts fell on the weekend the heats were running!!!

There's plenty of places up there that dont get lamped hard, so lets hope feb isn't a repeat of this months weather!!!

More theories of it being fixed eh???

If Mark wants to run the final on his land, he should've organised the comp himself!!!!!

Look at woodgas posts over the seasons gone by, regular numbers of 40s, 50s 80s, 100s...........all with dogs, not many other people take these numbers on a regular basis season after season!!!!!

How will the semi finals be drawn LDR? Is it down the card or will it depend on who gets through?

It'll be sorted amongst the people in it mate!!

If it goes down the card, i'll be accused of fixing it, in fact whatever way its matched, i'll be accused of fixing it, so the people who are in it, will make a group decision of how its done!!!
