gazguildford 0
just wondering what you guys do i shoot from my sniper spot on one of my permissions from a natural hide out into open field usually the bunnies drop about 10 yards from theyre hedge and i always retrieve asap so i just wondered if dropping them and leaving them makes any difference i.e willdead bunnies spook more than me trotting and clambering out to retrieve? cheers gaz Quote Link to post
labsnlurchers 39
well i leave them till the end, use tha lab to find any that are in cover. the problem is the more you move around by the runs the more your scent gets to the rabbits an the fewer you will see. Quote Link to post
andy s410c 63
I always leave them where they fall when i'm sniping.I've seen other rabbits sniffing them & even start cleaning themselves next to their deceased friend.Which in turn keeps your range finding spot on as another AA Field connects to it's napper Quote Link to post

stealthy1 3,964
Leave them where they drop, rabbits seem to investigate dead or dying relatives. Quote Link to post
jazz_11 5
lol they dont mind it, its the game keeper you got to watch out for lol.. but then his 2 labs are the worst so he cant really say anything. he is a great worker but as soon as he smells the pheasant thats it i wont see him for a while. victor 10
leave them, and just keep in mind how many youve shot, you ahve a chance that you have a nice head shot and it wont kick at all, and youll be able to take more than one in the same 5 minutes we were shooting with shotguns one day on one of my veryfew shooting trips of the year. the bloke who ones the guns didnt have much ammo so we brounght some cheapies, #4's and we didnt take 1 home. very close action and no poing in keepiung them .
