My kennel is 6' x 8'. They have an old double matress on the floor, covered in hay and straw. The old girl seems to like it!

Ferret

were not worried about the wife mate its the dogs were interested in lol :D

I agree with P&G it is good for drying them off and gives them a nice smell.. Only problem I had with shaving's was that when a bitch I had came into season, she ended up having a bit of an infection as some of the shavings got trapped in her vulnerable area

I've used a far few types of bedding and at the moment i'm using oat straw. I prefer oat straw as it doesn't break and becoming as dusty as wheat straw, which can be a real pain.

Tried using carpet but it became a pain in winter when the dogs were a bit wet the carpet soon began to smell !!!

A women with greyhounds who i know uses shredded paper but the paper has like a plastic coating, as the paper is the same stuff that is used in nappies !!!!

One thing i always do with straw though is spray with a good insectisidal spray before putting it down for the dogs just to kill any until bugs and fleas.

All the best Tommy ;)
