whats a small pcp for a 5 year old

daughter keeps at me to get her an airgun .

 

so what should i be looking at ? i have been told the ultra is quite small.

I'll probably get slated for this, but what about something like the crosman Ratcatcher? It weighs next to nothing, and will at least give you daughter some sort of idea about shooting an air rifle.

I am all for starting them young, my boys certainly did..but it never crossed my mind to get them a gun at the age of 5.

 

They used mine, with my help and under my strict control and supervision until they were "older"

 

You cannot possibly be considering letting a 5 year old use the gun unassisted so what the hell, just let her use yours with your help!!

i started of with the ratcatcher and sawed the stock down it worked a treat should be ok for the little one

lol yeah ok , have you ever seen a five year old trying to shoot a super10 , she was ferreting at 4 and only yesterday was out with me shooting again , she wants her own gun and in her own words 'wants to shoot a rabbit' , i will not let her kill anything until she is older and she completely understands what 'killing' an animal means but im all for her to do target shooting , i have promised to take her to the gunshop at the weekend to see what would fit her best

 

i will have a look at the ratcatcher has i hadnt thought that her arm could go thru the stock and with the aid of a red dot i think she will get on fine .

QB 78 , Ye i know its a co2 capsule , but its a great little gun , cheap as chips and , its very small

i just had a look at the review for them buster , i think it maybe a bit too heavy for her but for £40 you dond mind cutting it up and it will have a bipod anyway .

I dont think theres many more mate , like i say cheap as chips and can be tuned up well too !!! Lots of guys are using them now unless you wanna go the B2 route with a chinky gun ?? just spring though. I got a B2 for my daughter £15 put a red dot sight on it and bobs yer uncle !! for the money it dont matter if she never uses it !!! But if it were me , it would be the QB78

I have a good bipod that easily fits to my King Ratcatcher from HERE and it works a treat so I'm sure your daughter will appreciate it

for the money that looks ideal but it looks full size , im going to the gun shop and will ask to see one of these for sure .

Not at PCP but it is designed for younger shooters. The Weihrauch HW25. Although it still might be a bit big for a 5 year old. Buy second hand and modify the stock to suit. They run a consistent 6ft/lbs and can be great fun for all ages!

 

Small PCP's, you're looking at a single shot S200, for simplicity. Either that or let her shoot yours off a bipod.
