the thing with permision is you really need to get your foot on the ladder. and show your honest and trust worthy. keep at it and take anything your offered. once you get a little if you show you can do a good job over a period of time it will snowball. as darcy says be carefull who you take with you. as its easier to lose than gain. also its worth remembering. YOU CANT SHOW SOME FOLK A f****n BLACKY'S NEST. :censored:

I was born in leeds and grew up on teh border of north and west yorks, permission was always hard to get up there, farmers are typically strange and in west yorks even more so,

have you tried keepers, shoots, small syndicates, etc.....if its terrier work you want mainly then offer yourself as a beater, most shoots rely on beaters and helpers to do the vermin control from rat, rabbits to foxes and deer at the end of teh shooting season.

I landed my first ferreting near where i live now by being a beater, teh keeper gets to know/trust you and as the shooting season finishes i got the chance ofa bit of ferreting, that same keeper used to take a few of the other beaters lamping foxes, its easier to get permission if you are in already rather than that being your way in alone!

I moved south and now have a fair few bits of ferreting, shooting and other vermin control to do, but it is hard won and easily lost.
