I've been out with sons of Meg which both stay until dug to and have heard nothing but good reports from good sources about MEG of Downsouth's....never once heard anything mentioned about being called away and not being upto the job

Very surprised to hear Meg put down like that, I too have heard only good things about her and her offspring, she'd certainly have a home down this way with some of the lads I know, they seem to think very highly of her, I hear her owner is a bit of a phone pest though .................. :secret:

Downsouth, you know what she does and how she does it, if you're happy then that's good enough, I'm 100% that you wouldn't be feeding her if she wasn't genuine.

Bloody internet, can turn a man's 20 years work into rubbish overnight.

What I can say for sure is this and I have told any lads that asked the very same thing, which they will confirm..........When I went to Downsouths house to collect the pup, it was one of a litter of 3.

4 had been born, but one didnt make it.

This litter was THE best litter of pups I have EVER seen!!.........the conditions they were kept and raised in were second to none.

Downsouths kennels are a credit to him as are his dogs who are well socialised and in good condition.

The man knows his breeding and we had a laugh because he lost me after about 5 minutes............but if I ever wanted to know about such things I would ask Downsouth, because he knows it chapter and verse.

Whatever went on in the meantime is none of my business, but I will say that Downsouth was genuinley gutted to see this bitch pup leave.........and I mean, gutted!!

But, a deal is a deal so the bitch duly left...........he kept his end of the bargain as far as I know.

He kept a dog pup and I said if he ever wanted rid, could he give me first refusal and he agreed..........now he could have charged big dollar for this pup, of that I am sure...........but, a few months later it wasnt fitting in at his kennels as it was driving all his other well behaved dogs mad.

So, true to his word.........he called me and told me a few lads were after the pup but he had promised me first bite and did I want it.

No big money, alllthough I would have been happy to pay and I am sure the other lads would have paid more.........but, the man kept his word.

Thats all I have to say on this little matter...........and what more do I need to say.

I have a dog here and a lad I dig with has a dog also, theyre both out of Downsouth's 'meg' bitch but to different fathers , they both entered early and are still being dug to, never seen 'meg' being dug to but the lad who I do most of my digging with who also got me my dog speaks highly of her. Its a shame the 'Chaz' x 'Meg' mating never 'gelled' so to speak, but i think its fair to give the pups a chance to show what theyre made of before any culling is done, after all there's nowt but good blood in them...

A bull blooded dog that we've had a few good digs to...

stevie5sept.jpg

glad to see hes still going well bud,im going back to that type of blood next time i breed meg which will be her last litter wasnt to pleased with the last breeding i did with the chaz dog,the wheeler stuff works well with meg

I'm sorry the two dogs aren't working out! as there sister is a real tidy little thing which her new owner has high hopes for, but we both knew the risks when i let you use Chaz, he's a 100% all out worker, stay til dug, line bred back to the beginning, Meg is not what most terriermen would call a 100% worker although i'm sure there is a place for a fox dog which can be called out and she is after all more or less breeding unkown, i hope you PTS the two dogs as is seems there nothing but rubbish, where as the little bitch may make a nice little fox dog? good luck with your breeding plan

Megs grandfather was flint that many thought was by spartacus but turned out wasnt hardly makes her breeding unknown all the rest of the breeding we talked about before i used chaz and if all you think of the little bitch pup is she may make a little foxer dont you think 300 quid was a bit steep especially when your always slagging lads off as being dog dealers and money makers.Funny how you come up with answers now why when you havnt got the guts to answer the phone still the lads that matter all know the crack

i never sold her for £300..she just wasn't what i wanted at this time, when chaz has mated a few hard working bitches so i can take my pick, and thats what you have to do if you have doubts about outcross.... move on ....

Lets deal with facts You told me the bitch was breed a certain way, before she was breed to chaz after wards its was proved she wasn't, you told me you can call her out,but she a 100% fox bitch and 3rdly don't come on the net slagging off a litter of pups you breed out of my dog when there not even old enough to have all there 2nd teeth

and last of all the reason i didn't offer you the bitch back was because you said when she was ready you'd mate her back to Josh....

and this is the reason!!!!! this litter is suddenly crap because you didn't get the bitch pup, even though you have since offered a lot of money for her plus her brother to her new owner, all i can say to you is, if these pups are now suddenly so crap why not P them TS, or give them away to lads who will take a chance and run on these 6 month old pups, and judge them on how they work and not weather they have bully heads, give those long nosed pups a chance to work....
