Need some help please everyone.....I am developing a website for shooting accessories, bit of fishing, archery, scopes and on through the air guns, shotguns, rifles and ammo in due course, you get the idea!

OK, there are loads of sites out there, JSR, Uttings, Deben, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.............................

Which site do you like the most and why...I am talking layout, colouring, navigation, etc...not the products they sell!

And again, which site do you like the least and why?

Thought about a poll but it would be far too complicated so I would very much appreciate your comments on shooting related websites, your likes, dislikes and favourites!

Replies on the thread or by PM if you prefer.

Many thanks!!

Deker,

There are a few which I use and like the layout and navigation of, however they do have drawbacks. One such is the Sportsman Gun Centre's Website.

It is great in the respect of everything being categorised and you can find the correct section easily but the major drawback I find with them is that there are way too many products to browse through before you find the one you want. It seems to be too broad.

Litt's website used to be the same.

Uttings is a good site in my opinion, everything in brand specific and model categories. Easy enough to get around.

Target Sports can be a bit tedious with the time it takes to come up sometimes and the general layout could do with sprucing up.

I think what I am trying to say is Simple and to the point is your Key. Categories on the home page so that a browser can go straight to the product, then further categories to the brand and perhaps model.

Regards

http://www.northeastfieldsports.co.uk/index.php .... clean crisp, easy on the eye, doesnt take an age to download.

I agree with fidgety this site is well put together looks professional and is really easy to navigate. You have to make it look professional for people to even think about ordering through you. And the less time you have to spend trawling round trying to find what you need the better. Its a balance thats hard to create!!

Uttings is very good.

target sports is ok.

Good luck with it deker!! :gunsmilie:

My top five, Cabelas, Cabelas, Cabelas, Cabelas, Cabelas. Well and clearly laid out, just plain easy to use, you click on a certain titled button and you are brought to where you expect. Besides that their service is excellent, not like certain snotty other sites I have delt with.

You'll get big brownie points for delivering an item quickly and reliably and communicating well with your customers. I would say that is the most condemned aspect of many sites, my order is late, problem with inventory they never told me I'm fed up waiting etc.

I'm not going to mention any other site because I don't think any other site even comes reasonably close to it.
