purse nets (nylon)

I hve been making some purse nets and want to make some nylon ones, I already have some nylon ones i bought but they tangle very easaly and i was wondering if you could please give me a idea of what oz i should buy so it dose not tangle so much and where i can buy it from.

Nylon is always gonna tangle a lot more than hemp nets, I'd say stick to hemp

Try to get some spun nylon it is good for not tangling and the knots will not slip it comes in differant thickness it's nearley as good as hemp

10z are good, my hemp hardly got used last season. Only tried a couple of spun nylons before and they were blowing away on an embankment, would have been ok if wet.

10z seems to be the way to go or good spun nylon but i use a 2 inch or 2 and a eight mesh board to allow for the nylon swelling which you wont get with hemp

10oz for around and in corse bushes ... 6oz or maybe 4 oz on out in the open holes i carry them all just incase but if i was going to buy just 1 it would be 10 oz good allrounder

I think 6z is perfect, only tangle if you cant use them

i dont realy like the hemp myself as it rotts and it takes up alot of room on the needle when makeing the net!!

as for tangleing once you get the tecnique right of untangleing them there done in 5 seconds flat usually

 

edited to say, and the hemp tends to break under the strein of actually makeing the nets sometimes :realmad: :drag:

You should'nt buy shite hemp then should you,a good quality even hemp will never break while knitting.

 

Yeah, I agree. It might be cheaper than quality stuff but if it is no good then you have wasted your money. With cheap hemp the knots tend to slip a little too.

I have used all sorts of twine for nets but still like to use hemp nets they just feel right to me i have spun nylon nets in my bag too that are good but reach for the hemp first . I dont know what the hardship is in looking after your hemp nets when you have used them it is just routine to hang them up nowt hard about that i have some hemp nets in my bag that will be over 25 years old and they still hold rabbits.
