Those golf buggies are good for taking rabbits from  nice a quite and a familar site to them, all be it at a unusual time. Got to be a little careful on the brakes when going down the fairways as those things lock up very easily... not the best on short dewy grass... with a gun :icon_eek:

nice shooting lads but did deker object to shooting the hare with an air rifle like he did on here a couple of weeks ago :gunsmilie:

Dear Wats

I do not believe the air rifle is the tool of choice to shoot Hare with, a point I have made historically, and a view shared by the BASC and the CA and just about every other shooting involved organisation you can think of.

However, I also made the point if you look back, that..."we all know it is capable of doing the job"....we also all know a 12ft lb air rifle is capable of killing a PERSON, and has done, but it certainly is not the first choice for anyone wanting to achieve this!

In this particular case the Hare ran straight at Charlie who was in cover, he had a clear shot, at what I seem to recall was little more than 10 yards!

This does not change my view or opinion of a 12ft lb air rifle and Hare. Just shows that a good shooter at close range can do it! Which we all know!

And I could drop a Red Stag at 100 yards with a .22LR, doesn't make it right, doesn't make it acceptable, doesn't make it legal and doesn't mean everyone can do it!

And Many Thanks again to Davy and Charlie for the invite!

Cheers

i have shot and killed many hare's. upto 30 yard's and beyond with a 12fp air rifle . hare's may look big but they are very thin skinned and weak willed hit em on the button and they go out like a light. i think a squirrel is tougher to kill cleanly at maximum airgun range . than a hare.

hi everyone

went to me local golf course last week thought we { me apprentice charlie }would pop in on the way home from Stanford house not much going on there any way. so pulled up at the course and saw this bloke walking around looked like he was pissed then he disappeared into the darkness 5 minutes later he is walking back towards me so over i go and ask what he is up to had me light on flood so wouldn't blind him. as he got closer i seen he had a screw driver in his hand and i thought oh shit here we go . so introduced my self and asked what he was doing he was only the water sprinkler guy thank fook . so we got chatting said i was here to take care of the rabbits he replied have you been down the back yet and i said no but may take a long walk round well he said straight away take one of the buggies . well it would be rude not to well i have never played golf or been on a buggy after a quick induction we were of . well we were pissing are selves it nearly went over a couple of times but had a good crack and managed to get round the course twice and bagged these two.
