Heres my little hob bearing in mind he's on top of mainly half grown rabbits :victory: im going to measure him one day :hmm:

You'll get a complex if you go around measuring your 'hob' then comparing it with other peoples, just be happy with what you've got....... :whistling::laugh:

Large warrens should have a majoriy of the holes filled in to make ferreting easier. In these situations big hobs will work like mad all day everyday. I find small jockey jills a excellent for small shallow warrens and work well with dogs.. It depends on the ground and size of warrens it would be stupid to put a huge hob under trees as it is tight and difficult.. i beleive a good ferreter has a collection of ferrets so that the pot can be filled everytime, and i just dont get people who say small or even big are the best as it depends on the situations just as with lurchers.. :gunsmilie:

why fill holes in, making hard work for yourself, and potential stop ends for bolting rabbits and ferrets to be dug out

as already described, longnet encircled, a few purse nets if needed, bobs ya uncle

Well thats your choice have you ever tried it , if not then do. Go down a day or two before fill them in , then you can see which ones are used and trust me its not many and about 20 nets should easily do it and a good lurcher or two if you have any.. Im not saying im better or this is better but try it .. Its fun and will bag a good few. It doesnt take as long as you think and i personally have no issue with digging.. I just prefer log nets elsewhere . Plus you have more control over the burry.. :wallbash:

i found when i started i didnt have anoth nets so i missed a hole which was covered in stick and didnt look to be used so i left it started ferreting and a rabbit bolted that hole luckily the hob had hold of its legs and that was my first rabbit anyway my point is if they have a ferret behind them they will still use an abandoned hole
