Here in Ireland we've been deep in recession for all of, oh, what is it again, three weeks? Except we're not, we're still growing say the figures (but that doesn't make news does it, not anymore) :toast: The Meeja (media) love to talk us down, alrighty then. We're all now emigrating to Australia, UK and Northern Europe, apparently. This Christmas RTE are hoping to revive the horror stories of families saying goodbye to loved ones they may not see again for five or more years. The 1980's this is not. A great big shiny :feck: to the left wing, whinging, bleeding heart, head in the clouds/up their own arse media in Dublin and elsewhere I'm sick to the back teeth of the lot of ye :feck:

Let's turn a negative into a positive.

Just think about it for a moment.

No more "home grown tv" as they won't be able to afford it, that can only be a good thing

A return to good music (hopefully..) and the demise of text in tv.

The "Jonses'" selling their flash car and buying second hand  and God forbid, having only two foreign holidays this year.

That's three plus points from me, now, what about you?

lol i've been living in a recession for almost ten years now! my car cost me $10 - last owner said it was irreparable, but i married a mechanic for a reason. ugly ass car but its more reliable than anything else i've seen come off the car lots.

the last vacation i ever went on was a weekend hunting trip with my dad and husband. didnt see anything worth shooting but it was nice to hear crickets and birds and not motors and smell smog.

i guess when you're not used to having money it doesnt really matter lol people all over the world over indulge and now they're mad and pissy because thats being taken away from them and they cant afford the new car payments, tv satellite, what phones with cameras and internet......

boo hoo cry my a river, bunch of spoiled brats.

With you there Blue; knowing you can live on next to nothing when times are hard (and still have a smile on your face) is good.
