Rhodey 96
Just had this e-mail: See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it We are hitting 123.9 a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with paying 2.00 a ltr. Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea: This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy petrol on a certain day campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT,whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read it and join in! Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the market place not sellers. With the price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their Petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.. Here's the idea: For the rest of this year DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP. If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't wimp out at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I am sending this note to a lot of people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it... . THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all.(and not buy at ESSO/BP) How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8days!!! Acting together we can make a difference . If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE 69p a LITRE RANGE It's easy to make this happen. Just forward this email, and buy your petrol at Shell, Asda,Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons Jet etc. i.e. boycott BP and Esso

Simoman 110
Must admit I've had this sent as an e-mail a lot over the last six months and look at the silly rise thats seems to still be gathering momentum. I only get my fuel from Asda and have always boycotted Bp, Esso and Jet. Its getting to the point were a very large chuck of our wages goes on getting to work, public transport is out of the question as I live in a rural area with no bus route and work is over 40 miles each way. Hopefully I'm converting my Navara to a veggie oil kit soon, I've read about mixing it with diesel but it doesn't sound that good and I'd rather go the whole hog and run it mainly on oil................ SEAN3513 7
good plan, but it takes EVERYBODY to do it. it knocking hell out of local tradesman up here.........we are rural and need to travel upto 30/40 miles between jobs, as a lot of people here are self employed. it would be great, but how long will it take?...........but does the problem lie at the door of the fuel producers??? if duty and/or vat was reduced.............the cost of fuel could be reduced overnight. all the best sean

will.f11 24
my parents make bio-diesle. They get all the used veg oil and because they have to pay to dispose of it they are more than happy. Try your local fish and chip shop and places like that

gsi2000stokie 5
or kill 2 birds with one stone. (so to speak) everyday we see adverts on tv saying give £3 a month for African kids who have no water or food. right! hows this the big oil company's give em a few water wells and a few 1000 tons of rape seed to grow (actually 3 birds with one stone) they grow the rape seed, we buy it back, they get fresh water and water for the seed to grow, the money off the seed buys them food and we get our petrol for next to fecking nowt!!!! now what do ye think of that then! thought of that all by myself!!!!!!!!!!!! I say burn down westminster and THL can run the country we can all be MP's. I'll most probably get a visit from Mi5 for saying that lol
Guest davieboy
the oil companies only make about 2p a litre or something daft like that, so it would achieve very little, it is all duty and tax and stuff, prime minister bawbag, i mean brown will do nothing to help either, also the mental goverments in south america that we buy alot from are playing silly buggers with the cost of barrels of oil so we need to invade a country and take the oil in it!!! mot like iraq where we invade but cant use any of there oil ........ politics eh!!!!! ps i dont know how much of this is factually correct :icon_redface: :icon_redface:
