Guest jojoamojo
very good question; how long as she been in season, have you left her in season before for a long time, how old is she, how much is alot and is it green and snot like Quote Link to post
skycat 6,174
That sounds suspiciously like an infection and the greeny fluid would be pus! Vet job I'd say. Quote Link to post
The one 8,588
The only time i'd expect a discharge from a jill is after she's given birth .If its thick smelly etc your better letting a vet have a look Quote Link to post
jazz_11 5
not thick and doesnt really smell but dont want to smell it lol she is 1 and a half, its her second time in season with me but the first time i only just let her come into season when i mated her, her vulva wasnt that big, and the same now its still a few weeks to go before i think she is 100%ready..... i no when jills come in season they do leek. The one 8,588
The only time iv'e seen jills leak is just before there about to give birth ,no sure about coming into season Quote Link to post
Guest jojoamojo
i think people are suspecting a pyometra, basically its an infected womb, sometimes you get a puss leaking from her vulva, which is the fastest way to diagnose a pyo, some dont get the leak and only vigilance anf awareness lets you see the jill is not right and get her to a vet asap a jill will be ready to mate within 2 weeks of coming into season, if you shouldnt leave her longer or you are increasing the risks of a plastic anemia the discharge you would expecxt to see is just enough to make her vulva look wet, not pouring out of her what happened to the last litter? Guest jojoamojo
how many times do you need to be told its a job for the vet? *if* its a pyo you could loose her Edited May 23, 2008 by jojoamojo Quote Link to post
stubby 175
the ferret forum, can only give you advise, not fix the problem, you have asked the question, and had more replies saying "get to the vets" and as yet, Ive not seen a post saying"mine get this green puss too, so all is ok" as much as I dislike vets, in this Instance, I'd say get her to a vet's too  Quote Link to post
jazz_11 5
i have been told they do give off a discharge, what i want to know is how much??? doesnt seem to be much today at all, alot less than yesterday.... any other advice than go to the vets.... Quote Link to post
sue 1
i am not your vet so i woundnt have a clue how much it would cost you , better to discuss prices with them im sure it wont cost you that much for a check up to put your mind at rest. Quote Link to post
