Night time hunting can be more productive in many cases but you miss seeing so much besides the quarry. Daytime hunting now is more of an enjoyment for me although I love going out any time! woz 260 Posted May 8, 2008 Report Share Posted May 8, 2008 great post.....i like the day for ferreting/ratting but i like the night for rat shooting/ lamping....for me night hunting is a magical time,i guess im lucky really, i go lamping three times a week atleast..i tend to shoot from a vehicle most of the time which i enjoy..but the thing that gets my pulse up and the butterflys in my stomach is lamping my dogs.the buzz starts in the afternoon and by the time iv got the dogs in the landy and we are on our way im as exited as my dogs.but ferreting holds the same buzz..iv had a 10 year break and played at it last season to see if it held the same buzz it had from memory.iv got myself well set up for next season with kit and some decent ferrets so i cant wait..im not into fishing...digging really but have nothing at all against it all..each to there own....
