Mr_Logic 5
AFAIK they go about 100-120 yards, hit with a bit more than 22LR, but not a lot, and are supersonic. So... 22 magnum anyone?! Quote Link to post

woz 260
a mate of mine use,s one and swears by it....they tend not to damage the meat as bad as hmr......the are much better than 22lr,but im no lover of 22lr!!...the amo is significantly cheaper than 17hmr...they easily kill bunny's out to 140 yards with little drop.... But, so does 22WMR... 17HM2 is supersonic so with correct moderation surely they are the same level of noise, roughly speaking? Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
yes hm2 is still going to be loud as its super sonic. if thats the case i would just use the hmr its really the same sort of noise if i little louder. the hm2 buleets are cheaper but not all shops have a good stock of them in so make sure yours does if you plan to get one. otherwise you will have to travel which will cost you so you mite as well got the hmr in my opion as for the 22lr i think it is still the best rabbing rifle its cheap to run, there is loads of different ammo for it, there alot more silent, and if you set it up at 50 or 60 yards and get a good scope you can soon work out where to aim off at out to 100 yards. the mtc scope is good for this. plus if the rabbits you have on your land can be shot below 100 yards why waste money using hm2 or hmr bullets on them Quote Link to post
