Ireland Fuel Protests

I think there’s one difference between this protest and JSO. These are ordinary business owners and workers who are showing the country that it’s not huge haulage firms that keep the country afloat and it’s not big company’s that the country really depends on. It’s the small man who shows up every day to keep things moving. And just as they keep things moving they can bring it all to a stop at any given moment. This really is people power and reality is nothing can really be done to stop us only listen. There has been no vandalism or destruction caused by any of this.

However, if “the people” allowed the government to lock you all up then it gives the government the right to lock up whoever they see fit about any protest they choose in the future doesn’t it mate.
Do you agree ?

Where’s bangers the shithouse spends his days trying to run Ireland down. This could be the start of something. I see loads of the public are bringing the protesters out food and drinks now in support

I think where the government were hoping it would die down after the few days it’s only getting stronger. Sending two tractors and a horse lorry to do their bit tomoro

In reality, I’m just making mischief…..it’s funny to see people who wanted folks locked up for exercising their right to protest the other year spluttering and stuttering ! lol

You didn’t mention “the RIGHT” to protest. I answered your question .

Cheers

You could save yourself a lot of silly bother and just say “I was wrong, I’ve changed my mind” like I did with Reform ?

Theres no shame in it.

Apologies on the pictures front lads but I don’t feel comfortable putting up peoples pictures on here without permission especially trucks and machines with company names on them nobody knows how this will all play out and what could be used to incriminate in the future. I’ve taken loads and will have a look through tonight and upload what I think is fair.

But I haven’t !

You said, and again I quote you “but you don’t support protest LIKE THIS” and ended it with a question mark, so I quite reasonably took it to be a question and I answered, that yes, I did support this strike, you only started bringing in the”RIGHT “ to protest laterI. I will reiterate, then you said it was binary. You either support ALL protests or you support NONE, which is clearly nonsense and most likely why you moved the goal posts to include the “RIGHT” to protest.

We usually have civilised discussions, even when we disagree, so don’t try to belittle me with the beep, beep, comment….. if anyone is reversing it’s you from your original comment , if you had said “ but you don’t support the RIGHT to protest ? I would have gave this answer;

”Yes , I support the right to protest, because it’s lawful, but I don’t support protests when they include breaking other laws, such as defacing statues, desecrating graves etc or deliberately breaking the law by supporting a lawfully proscribed terrorist organisation , even when they knew the out come.

If anyone should hold up their hands it’s you mate 👍

But hey ho, you’ll come back at me , but there’s no getting away from what you originally asked me.

Cheers.

I’m well aware of what I said, you don’t support protests that stop traffic….you made that very clear the last time.

So, last time, I made the point they have a right to peacefully protest how they see fit and if they didn’t then nobody does.

You (and others) argued that stopping traffic wasn’t a legitimate form of protest and they should protest “in the correct way” (whatever that means ??)

Stop attempting to shift the goal posts old chap, you’ve been hanging round your protégé too long ! 😄

None of that deflects from your original question to me , it’s there for all to see and I stand by every thing I’ve replied to it.
I was foolish of me not to spot you were trying to trap me, it’s what I expect of some others, but I thought you were above that and gave you genuine answers.

Im not going to keep quoting what you said. It’s there for all to see.   You started to realise you had got it wrong and far from ME moving the goalposts, I’ve been extremely consistent, even repetitive with my answers, whereas you moved to a different stadium, never mind moving the goalposts, by changing it from “protests LIKE THIS” to “ the right to protest “.
I had you down as someone who believes in peoples rights, yet you appear to want to deny me the right to agree with some protests but disagree with other protests……That sounds like the Authoritarian Society you profess to abhor !😂

Im saddened and more than disappointed at you, I fully expect it from some but I allways had you down as genuine even when I’ve disagreed with you, but as someone who GENUINELY believes in “rights” I’ll give you the curtesy of the right to reply before I bow out of this rather pointless conversation 👍

Cheers.

I wasn’t trying to trap you, I just found it funny that some of you lads were supportive of this today when you had previously said it’s wrong.

You all said it, not me. lol

I don’t see any contradiction in disagreeing with Just Stop Oil trying to stop us using oil,  and agreeing with farmers trying to make fuel cheaper and more accessible to us.

Cheers.

I can’t keep doing it to you mate because I like you very much in this silly old internet world, so I’ll stop, let anyone who wants to read the other thread and decide for themselves who said what.
As always, a robust and enjoyable chat old chap.
