Can't get back which dogs that ? All mine straight to me 

Saluki barks at dogs mate not none stop unless sometimes when playing lol it wont be for long

You said the new bitch runs off, you said Marcus got rid of it because it kept running off.

I don’t think you’ve been out with many whippets, or they’ve been started too young or overmatched. 
I’ve had many and been out with many more and only seen the odd yapper.

Dont get me wrong, I like a bit of beddy in the cross, I had a little bitch , Delta that was 1/4 beddy, the rest was whippet/greyhound/deerhound and never yapped in her life.

Ive owned and worked many whippets, both ped and non-ped and never had one yap but I’m sure some do, again probably by being overmatched or started too young.

Definitely over matched.. I was ferreting last year on the edge of a wood and 7 roe came trotting out .. my beddy/whippet went chasing after and the buck turned round and stood his ground.. I bet it thought my dog was some deranged hare they had a bit of a wrestling match then it ran off while the other roe were watching from the edge of the field… more bemused than scared .

No.shes like  collie follows me about straight back.unless its stashing a hare  it will hunt out whatever is in a mile radius once off thats why he got rid but nothing about smells nowt straight back lol

I live in Lincolnshire and the fields are big and vast, and that’s where mine struggles a bit. But her nose and willing to follow a line well out of sight from me helps he account for bags of game. I offen just put the tracking collar on and let her loose on the edge of a wood or moorland and just watch the tracker and wait for the sound of contact. She’s a good pamper though even despite of her great nose.. straight back, no hunting up unless I let her.

Maybe so, but when I’ve been to coursing meets, it’s not like that, but anyway, the lad was on about his dog opening up when chasing. 
If you go to a whippet racing meeting, you get some dogs barking with excitement before a race but I’ve never seen one yap when racing. Just as I’ve seen very few open up when working.

The lad was asking for advice about his beddy:whippet yapping when chasing, I’d say ANY type will open up if it’s been overmatched or started to young with frustration, I wouldn’t say it’s peculiar to whippets.

But let’s not go round and round in circles

Worked a whippet ferreting and on the lamp she never ever yapped......small dogs will tend to yap out of frustration especially on quarry there losing ground on......whippets are excellent rabbit dogs but I'd not run one on much else

Many moons ago a friend asked me to give his Bedlington x Whippet a few runs I did and from then on iv avoided any lurcher with Bedlington blood

  could be or could give you the dog of a lifetime or a bitch produces them or ten times that back if its top class and you sell me it lol
