jukel123 10,501
Taken last year. Geez it was cold. Even the wee cocker was subdued. I remember shooting geese in the 70s at _13. Beards and moustaches were popular then and everybody's froze solid. Treating the Mrs to a holiday in the wild same place as above. Fishing this time. She's complaining there's no shops. But I keep telling her there's a village shop and a travelling van which comes once a week. No pleasing some people. Edited 5 hours ago by jukel123 2

Scottish highlands is the last true wilderness in the UK,-13 isn’t so cold but couple it with a windchill and your in trouble unless your dressed for it.

Bendigo 2,452
When I was in hunt service I went whole winters without putting the heating on. I'd only switch it on if I thought there was a chance I'd bring a bird home. Luckily after 2 years I got a flat over the stables with a log burner. The whip lived in a pre fab and in winter his toilet would freeze up.

Waiters spoke no English, beer was warm and don't even think about a shower until 11 o' clock, because we were dependent on solar for hot water. It was hideous. Nothing character building about it at all.

I can't help it if my mother loved me and yours neglected you. You sound like one of those infernal left wingers. Condemned to forever gnashing their teeth about life's unfairness and inequalities. Have you ever considered you were not worth loving? A wretched snotty child in a sky rise flat forever pining for attention and demanding food and clothing .? You were a pain in the arse. A burden on your mother.Poor woman. A child's ungratefulness is sharper than a serpent's tooth.Shame, shame on you.
