May is an egotist, and badgers are just another spotlight for him. Sure I seen something recently where Geldof had to correct the portrayal that the phone lines at live aid went crazy after Queen played.., i.e. they saved all those Ethiopians. Geldof actually praised Bowie for giving up a song in his slot so that the famous vt clip of kids dying would be put out live during the show.
