Wonderful text to wake up to !  My dad shot his very first buck this morning!  Re worked his little .243 and handloaded him some ammo last time I was home. Told home he needs to do some hunting because I'm gonna miss most of the rifle season and one of use should kill something 😂 he's not massive antler wise but definitely will fill the freezer . Said was about a 60yd shot and dropped lin his tracks . Proud of my old man just wish I could have been there to see his face and take some pictures ..but hay what can ya do 😂😅

Nice 1 wolfie, good eating there, nice casserole or stew, how would you cook it?

Can't speak for Wolfdog91....but depends on the cut of meat...shoulders are long and slow cook....back fillets are flash fried and served pink....back legs roasted with plenty of fat and butter......the neck makes a great stew...long and slow like the shoulders

Did your Dad give you the details ?

Like ; did he stalk it , or was he in a seat?    There's always a little story worth telling ...👍🏼

My dad's not the best when it comes to relaying details lol 🤣 but from what she told me he'd actually been seeing this buck for a few days. Missed talking na shot on him the first time because he was too close and had his scope zoomed all the way in . But this time he was sitting in one of the box blinds ( y'all call them high seats )  and basically ole boy just came walking by  at about 60-75yd. Dad said he put the cross hair in the shoulder area pulled the trigger and he dropped like he was struck by lightning!  Said he couldn't find a entry or exit wound or the bullet though which is odd but I reckon it's bec, well this is going to be like his third deer ever and his butching skills are a little.... Rough 😅 so might have just over looked it lol.

Personally I'd love. To do a little French rack deal like this

Then definitely jerky , sausages and a roast or ...four lol but Dad's a little.more came man he's just going to wash the meat off and toss hunks of it on the grill

There's  always a little story🙂  Seeing the deer in the area ,  then being too close for a shot when the chance came  and finally having his perseverance pay off!

👍🏼
