Popular Post ryaldinhio 5,239
Not been on for a while lads, change of phone lost log in etc. Now got the app so see how we go. Not much changed other than animals growing on. Turkey making good weight. Ducks ARE a pain in the arse as expected. This pig cross (Pietrain/Saddleback) is slower growing than previous breeds. But today we got our first ever duck egg at Meadowview cottage which was a nice surprise. Interested to hear what others have been up to...... 21

Lenmcharristar 10,400 Posted Saturday at 21:03 Report Share Posted Saturday at 21:03 Great thread this lads, fair play to you for rearing your own food, i tend not to really eat much pork as a lot of times theres a dirty taste in the meat, if im doing ham hocks, i poach them for a couple of hours in aromatics that tends to rinse the meat out before doing a honey mustard glaze on them, the lambs and pork does look top class and id love to roast a side if lamp over a wood fire.

Have a look for the original 'produce your own' thread. Think it got moved into fowl and feather talk for some reason. It had been going on a while, some good reading from all posters in there pal.
