Evil knievil 49
I know it makes little difference now but out of interest, I've a pedigree here of a Russell a pal of mine got off Jeff Burman back in the day. The dog was called Glue born 3/8/1970. Anyone have any information on the following breeders or terriers.... Jeff Burman's dog Jack and his 2 bitches Scamp 1 & Scamp 2, Sid Grantham's dog Tuppence & Brandy, and his bitches Sally and Heather, Taunton Vale terriers dog Pat and bitch Gyp, R. Elvin's dog Freddie, Exmoor Foxhounds dog Rabbis, Dulverton West Hunt bitch Norah, Heythrop Hunt's dog Pepper and Cotley Harriers bitch Nettle... Thanks 1 Quote Link to post
Bosun11 537
Interesting post Evil, a few years back we may have had members who could given you some information. Right now, I can only tell you that 'Glue' is a great name for a working terrier. I hope someone can help.... Quote Link to post

eastcoast 4,680
In response to the pm, Bosun11 flatters and overestimates my knowledge. It is extremely limited to the breeding of Russells that I have owned, primarily blood from the north of England. I do have a few written pedigrees and whereas quality working blood was at times shared by those in the know, and I was never one of those people, none of the names that are mentioned appear in the pedigrees that I have. I read and collect the "dreaded" books, which is no substitute for 1st hand knowledge of course, but again cannot recollect those names or dogs appearing in anything that I have read other than Jeff Burman, who I believe had terriers going way back to the old Devonshire blood. May have been a write up on him in EDRD, I'll do a search. Good luck in your research, hopefully someone else on here can be of more help. 1 Quote Link to post

Thanks A man who would have known about the dulverton west breeding passed about 7-8 year ago. The Kennel huntsman from the late 70’s is still going he might know but not seen him for few years. Evil knievil 49 Posted Monday at 08:55 Author Report Share Posted Monday at 08:55 (edited) Thanks Gypsy, plenty of information written down detailing the history of hunt's hounds out there, but it's unfortunately down to individuals to pass on the history of the hunt terriers...
