I remember Mik posting that he had lined a bitch with Darcys Scout?, a saluki cross. But could be dementia . He was very complimentary about Darcy taking the trouble to meet him and allow the meeting. Who was the Scots lad you had a big deerhound x from? He had 2 cracking deer/ greys from Trevor Cooke. Because everything happens for a reason A good bigun is always handier than a good littleun ! I am a fan of big machines of dogs, it’s just what I like.

mackay 3,688 Posted Wednesday at 14:41 Report Share Posted Wednesday at 14:41 I've seen quite a few first and second cross deerhound/greyhounds in my time, entered correctly and got a fair crack of the whip. They didn't do it for me, but each to their own. A lurcher type with deerhound blood amongst other types seemed to be a more versatile animal. I think the main reason first crosses were popular was simply the fact they looked the part, racy shape, rough coated and usually dark brindle/ grey etc.
