Something a bit different.

Recommended Posts

My youngest daughter has been going for archery lessons over the past few weeks with her pal. She and myself did a bit of archery about 16 years ago but nothing since that.  Yesterday Trish and myself went along to  watch them, the coach asked if I wanted a go so not needing to be asked twice, I had a three arrows set which I managed to get on the board in a 5'' group off to the left side but nevertheless they were on the target.

At the end of the session as we were getting ready to leave, Trish asked if I fancied a taster session to which I said yes so next Thursday we are both booked in. Oh I do hope we don't enjoy it too much because the cost of two outfits are going to be bloody expensive......

Well having been a few times to watch my daughter, I have booked in myself this Thursday but I have decided to go with the compound bow which is a different sort of animal altogether.  I did have a feel and drawer on one that was for sale, bloody amazing thing, when you draw back the string to max, the cams lock out and there is no effort at all holding the string while getting your aim. I feel a new interest looming up here............ 🤔

This is an example of the compound bow, click on the picture to get a far better image.

<p>The EK Archery Anvil Compound Bow is a great bow for all levels of archers with an adjustable draw of 5-55lbs and an adjustable draw length between 15-27"...

I will report back after Thursday.

I am going Thursday and will use the club bows but if I get hooked, I will need to learn some more about them as they are quite technical pieces of kit and the fact that some of them are adjustable on the cams to change the poundage. Clever stuff.
