Different around here mate , all hill work and mountains no one’s got permission farms don’t even own the land just grazing rights most I will just wave at you while they go passed on there quads

A know lads that have worked the land around Wales lurcher men. One of them moved over that way back in late 90s but been digging & bull x work over there since late 70s the man lives for it. Sold his house over here and moved over. Seen him over here in local boozer when he came over for Xmas to see his old man. Was saying he wouldnt change it. Just leave most land owners a bottle of sumat. No chew what so ever. Said not like over here.

Although I’ve never used, or wanted to use gps tracking on my dogs, of course there’s far more to lurcher work than point and slip coursing !

I fully understand the use of gps and thermal imagery, but as someone who works mainly without permission, that’s a lot to invest in if it gets confiscated !
If I worked permission, I would probably think about gps.

Cheers.

Doesnt matter where i were wouldn't need a GPS , that's not being funny mate. Im talking lurchers wearing GPS. Im not one to go looking for a lurcher. Im not playing catch up having to f***ing walk miles. Im there to see the dog working infront of me. It’s ment to be a pleasure to watch the dog run  what evers put infront of it. Youll get the odd run that ends up out of view but not too far that im having to keep walking miles to pin point the c**t on a GPS. Most my dogs when they've killed hares or rabbit they'll bring back to hand or a few yards infront. That's due to being trained from a pup with rabbit fur dummy. It’s each to their own. You use them I wouldn't.

very few dogs will run kill 3-4 hares and retrieve the tracker let’s you know were what’s happening you want the dog back as fast as possible on the slip because teals un do nothing but scan for the next

theres pets play with fur dummy’s  and theres real uns that are abit feral but know how to kill

i know which im choosing everytime

Upstairs for thinking, downstairs for dancing.

Little tip for thi lad, download What3words, if you're ever out with the thermal and you know it's going to get lifted, bury it and then pin your location, return later to retrieve it.

Abit feral you talk wet mate honest. And as for the dummy a 1lb dummy for the pup at 10 weeks of age in the garden. Me sat down on decking throwing it to other side of garden. Pup bringing it back to hand little tip bit reward. Its programed in from the fur on the fur dummy as it gets older to retrieve. Your saying after killing 3 , 4 hares. You could kill 3 hares say 2 to 3 min rus. The dog will stand over it for a second or two. Then make its way over to you. If Greb gets a 1lb dummy from local gun shop get a rabbit fur cover buy or just get one of lads ferreting. A used to have them in back garden playing chasing it about on a crill. Move away and call them to me with the dummy. Let them grab it after running it around the garden. All my dogs have known what there mouths are for. f**k that letting the hare find its feet. A want the dogs pressuring them. And from a young age you get them pup to use that mouth with it being play. That instinct is there from day one it just needs touching up. Hate to see dogs just driving them. Jamie says that about the dog hes filming with kipper. Ffs get it over with. You'll of seen that clip.
