Border pups

These are the ones that was mute but the bitch with the young dog was nice and steady,the old dog I lost to ground in winter when we broke through he was dead.I think he had a fit of something so I put the young dog in to finish both foxes this was about 25yrs ago.ive had borders 37yrs now and never fancied any other breed.

Nice pair lurchers i was always told they were slow to enter due to maturing late but I never really found that to be the case they weren't much different to some other terriers I knew some just mature quicker than others how did you find them lurchers

That’s the old saying that goes around about borders mate from these videos there’s idiots that’s never owned 1.I always say treat them like a lakie patterdale or Russell pups they will work from a early age.But if you listen to the loons and leave them in a kennel until they are 3yrs old you have ya work cut out.I think a lot of people want world beaters in lurches or terriers by the time they are 11mths old mate.A lot of terriers that’s smashed to bits and never rest 100% jack because there wounds are still sore to the touch just like what happens to us.If left a few months to heal properly so there’s no pain like ourselves they are ready to go again.Ive had a all my pups on rats at about 5ths old and following the older dogs throw bails and pipes when there’s nothing in from about 6mths old to help them to go in the dark.And watch dogs from 8mths old and by the time they are 11-12mths old they are keen as anything mate.Everything just takes time and don’t spoil them.They shitiest 1 I had was a bitch off Jeff fenorolli but wasn’t bred by him she was oxcroft (jack price blood) and it was scared of the dark and Jeff said she did 2 hole ends with him.I gave her to a pet home mate

Cracking looking border terriers guys. A mate of mine had a lovely pair that in true country fashion did a bit of everything including retrieving shot ducks from ponds. Cheers. Aled

I know a few that used them as all rounders mate from beating,retrieving and digging.I would put a good border against any spaniel for nose

lol I don’t give them stuff like that mate,that was my mate with the twix and he tries to give them bits like that and I tell him not to.They have there own food in my bag and that’s the thing with borders to,they will eat 2 tatties more than a pig and eat the pig after that

Took a bitch up to gordons for a mating  and she had afew pups we kept a blue and tan dog out of the litter, he worked his head off from hunting up on top to digging him out, he was one of the best borders we have ever had, sadly i lost him at the age  of 6 was going to  use him on a bitch we had but it wasnt to be, after while i took another bitch up to mate kept 2 pups back dog and bitch, both worked below and on top, the dog has a very good nose on him, would run all day long, the bitch was quieter but when she dropped in you was on, they are 11yrs now and retired, have a bitch out of the dog 3yrs old works her head off on top, very good nose on her, most times ive got to put bf collar on just in case, my digging borders never gave up on me and i would never give up on them, their as good as any other terrier,
