Neal 1,929
I stopped using the app for a while as I found it was making a few mistakes. In my area it was mainly thinking that blackbirds were something else as their call is a bit "jazz." However, I still use it a lot for those times when you find yourself hearing something you can't remember.

Those of a certain age will remember the trill sort of tone it made rather than the bell sound of other phones. Anyway, my mum used to do her nut as a starling would sit on the fence outside the kitchen window mimicking the sound of that phone, and she’d run off to answer it. "Trim phone"- l remember them, and the starlings copying it!
Greyman 31,211
Myrna birds and starlings are the same family I think hence the mimicking behaviour
Bosun11 537
Will keep my ears out for that. Round here we have plenty of both Buzzards and Jay's. The buzzards are a nightmare on the leverets in the area, and need culling. The Jay's, although prolific, put down more trees than tree rats could ever do....

I believe buzzards have a detrimental effect on the brown hare population and the buzzard is not as common around me these days though i am seeing more hare's now.
