I’m looking to connect with people involved with solar panels and farms in respect to recycling and disposal of broken/old panels/units. We offer free collection and disposal, with waste certificates included, all free of charge.

Think most the ones up this way are owned by the power company they just pay farmers rent for them an stick them on a couple hundred acres an the sheep graze beneath them, I ferret a few, pretty sure the power company owns an maintains the panels tho

Any idea which companies mate? That info is almost as good as an introduction  

To add, smaller companies who install and remove old panels are just as relevant. If they have panels lying around, we can offer disposal and waste certs

I’ll find out tomorrow for you as I’m lifting traps in a 300 acre solar farm

Scottish power have plenty spread over the uk. There run by a Spanish company aswell iberdrola if that's any relevant

I think the solar farms sell off the panels second hand when they are still running at 80% or there about relieving them the need to dispose of the old stuff lot of people on boats buy them

I've got panels going on a bit of rough ground and was wondering the same about impact. The site I found helpful for checking setups and comparing options was https://www.raylyst.eu —they’ve got maps and data that made it easier to figure out what would actually work in my spot without needing to guess too much. Worth a look if you’re trying to plan something similar.

I passed a place earlier this year in the Mojave desert that would have been perfect for you,it covered 3500 acres,all panels,cost $2 billion to build and is shutting down in 2026,it’s the Ivanpah facility.

No,but I can tell you exactly how to get to it,and point you in the direction of a place about 20’ish miles from it that does decent coffee and pie.
