Staghound/wolfhound

Have an 11 month old stag/wolfhound trying to get him to chase down game. He only starts to chase down once they start running not while they are still. Even once game is down and still able to move he still isn't keen to finish off.. unsure is he still to young/needs more hunting time under his belt could anyone give me some tips to give a try to possibly help thanks

Be patient once penny drops he be off still be a bit puppyish if a big dog at 11onth and still learning his trade

Have you a picture of him, my friend used to hunt a wolfhound / Greyhound back in the day. Game dog he was to.

I had a big staghound from just roo dogs and he didn't start chasing until 18 months, even though having him out daily in the bush sighting game. He ended up a good dog but be patient with these types, they take ages sometimes to start but the wait is worth it.

Them big dogs are usually slow to mature and later starters, give him time he will click impatience to start can sometimes ruin what would be a decent dog
