Do any of you proffesional pesters use the nooski rat system?

Im seriously thinking of ordering a couple in but would like some feedback on them. Any problems?? Anything that i should know?

Have you had any problems with the public and having a strangled rat sat outside the trap? Any info at all would be gratefully received.

Thanks in advance.

my mate use them, but somehow they dont seem right to me  not what trapping is about in my book.

never been into plastic and rubber things

i have a couple and have only ever caught 1 rat in my wifes stable , no chance of catching the neighbours cat or dog cos of the set up , worked a treat , baited the tube for a day or two then set it and bingo , next morning ratty laid on the floor a couple of feet away, i suppose they have there uses in such places as domestics where small animals a children could be running about

Had never heard of a Nooski Rat system so had a go at Google and found this:

So for everybody who doesn't know what the system is about, have a look.

Sounds like a real genius idea to me, but if it works.... ?

Take care

Have i missed something??
these nooskies are 16 quid each, just plastic and over priced , the bait tube is to small 1 1/2 inch diam. tried it they would not go near it , you are better buying 8 pro. victor traps for the price of one nooski, and modifying them , at least they are more humane and kill outright ,

Thought it sounded a interesting idea because i felt it would be a safe alternative for domestics, trouble is i have not found a rat that was retarded enough to stick it,s head in, gave it a fair trial but now it is destined to gather dust in the back of the trap shed, perhaps a ferret took a whizz on it.

Snareman, What it is , im thinking these will be ideal if they do what they say, for domestics. Kills the rat dead, without the risk of it going off on childrens fingers, and , unlike poison, you know where the dead rat is for showing the customer and it not dying in the attic and stinking.

Your saying that the tube is too small?!? and it doesnt kill straight away?!? Ive got loads of rat traps , but was looking for a different angle at attacking the rat.

in the modified rat trap the head is guided over the chin bar into the cage tunnel which is more than ample space for the rat to slip its head in the rat can also see through the cage and all around it , when the trap fires you get a neck strike everytime and the chin bar dislocates the vertebrae , humane and instant kill , as ive said about the tube on the nooskie , in my opinion its to small, i really think that this has to do with the rats not entering their head, i think that a 2 1/4 inch diam. tube would be better , as it gives them more confidence to enter their head , in winter time big well fed rats get a thicker winter fur making the head size larger , i found in the last week of snaring 38 rats and two stoats that a bigger noose set higher is more effective than a small one as it reduces the knocks ,and just like the rabbit snaring the big noose allows for any margin of error, personally i would not even bother with these nooskies as they are just light plastic and very over priced , even i don,t want to see an animal rolling about choking to death and i don,t think your customers would either, as i,ve said its only my own opinion,

:hmm:: When I first handled a Nooski,..I was immediately disappointed ....

There IS always a need for a 'better rat trap'....especially one that can be used in sensitive areas... ;)

The modern commercial pest controller often walks a fragile 'legal' tightrope and he has to be very aware of potential problems occurring.

Each year things get worse.

Each season brings more legislation and presents him with so many difficulties and concerns...

I've discussed this with a lot of genuine 'good guys',.and its sad to hear that a few of them are considering quitting the game..

The Nooski works adequately in a 'laboratory situation',...albeit like something out of a horror movie,...but in the REAL WORLD it does not seem to perform well...

Perhaps I lack the delicate touch of others,..who knows,...but I must agree wholeheartedly with Snareman when he mentions the ridiculously small entrance tunnel.

A Laboratory rat is usually a fat fecker,.but he generally lacks the nervous hesitancy of his truly wild brethren...

I think it would need an exceptionally hungry rat to push his head into that plastic tube...

And when he does....

The average householder will freak out if they see a rat flipping around, gasping for air, and generally breathing its last few breaths,..and all on their kitchen floor...

Its a different idea,.but definitly needs working on....

Back to the drawing board,.or as Snareman says,..back to the 'break back'... :toast:

All the best,..CHALKWARREN... :drink:

if we could have written professionally like plummer , he would never have been heard of , as he couldnt do the practical business like we can and that goes for all the other bullsh#t writers ,

As a pro, I can tell you I think its the cruelest thing I've ever seen.

How can people think of banning snares while these fecking things are legal?

Most right thinking people think that strangulation is cruel. I agree.

Nooski? No thanks.

Snareman and chalkwarren. Thanks very much, youve just about answered my questions. I was just looking at different angles at rats, but i will give it a miss.Ta

Matt- i dont know what the crack is with it. I was always sure that "strangulation" was illegal under the wildlife and countryside act. Maybe rats dont count??? The smaller animals dont seem to get the same treatment as the larger, cuter animals.

as a pro , you will probably have seen plenty of rats suffering from the effects of poison, how can a nooski be the cruelest thing you have ever seen ?

i cannot see the difference between a rubber band round a rats neck and a snare on a bender , do rats not get strangled in a wire snare ?
